T20 is no place for measuring speeds.People watch this matches and say xyz has lost pace in tests and odis.I started this thread in Ipl 2 or 1 I do not remember.Every match we had fastest ball by indian and match fastest. If it would be in that format atleast it would show the speed gun errors.
Styen, Morkel, Yadav, Tait, Johnson bowl same pace every where whether IPL or or any other matches. Steyn clocked 150 even in test against Pak.

Because those speeds are far slower than the other studies which occurred. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/records/283875.html
It also shows how varied those studies are so you cannot exactly go by them. These might be right, might not be. Suddenly in 3 years of time between 1976 and 1979, all these pacers lost that much of pace. In videos I have seen, Roberts does not look that quick. As first study showed, he might possibly be that quick because I consider Thomson, Lillie and Holding were quick because I have seen their videos.

error' date=' not there on IPL site.[/quote'] It;s there in google and online news sites and has been recorded in Wikipedia. Dale Steyn also tweeted about it.

Agree.. BTW awesome bowling by bhuvan today.. Just NCOs he has Kumar in his name people don't really support him enough:giggle:
Finally, someone giving credit to BK. It was an incredible spell, he did not deserve to be on the losing side.

Yaar. There were no speed guns at that time during matches. From naked eyes, even 135-140K looks quite quick. Batsmen now have also gotten better in terms of facing genuine pace. He must be quicker that that at his peak, but dont think Roberts was an express bowler. There have been only 3-4 express bowlers in history Thomson, Akhtar, Lee, Tait. Some say Frank Tyson was an express bowler too.
roberts was as quick as thomson in early stages of his career.... holding was consistenly quick but not quite as pacy as roberts was in his early years..... he slowed down considerably after 1976..
