rkt.india Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 So scoring runs against Finn, Morkel, Steyn, Roach, Edwards, Mallinga is of no use but failure to score runs vs Lee/Harris/Hilfy makes him suspect against good quality fast bowling! In that CB series, he was troubled more by the likes of Watson and Mckay than those who bowled at 140+. On the topic, as of now Bravo has the edge over Virat in tests. But Virat is back on track as a test batsman now and will soon move ahead of Bravo. In the next 10 home tests, I would be disappointed if Virat doesn't score 4-5 100s and around 800-900 runs overall. I did not say he has not done well. I Just said he is yet to prove a lot. Scoring against Aus fast bowlers in Aus in ODIs is yet to come . He still has a long way to go.

He has done well against eually good pacers (or perhaps better ones in ODIs) in challenging conditions, thats all matters really.

They both are very early in their careers. How can they be compared. Bravo has done better in test till now while Kohli has done better in ODIs.

Struggling in Australia against Aussie pacers will always be a point until he performs better than what he did this time. I am not saying he has not done well. He has done well, but he still has a lot prove in tests. His struggles in WI tests for an example. Comparison is not fair as both have prospered more in two different formats till now.
audioman Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 This is the deciding tour for Darren Bravo. Threw away an excellent opportunity to score a hundred yesterday. Kohli did well down under and looks full of class. Talking purely tests, I think Bravo is ahead by a decent margin. In ODIs, Kohli is much much farther ahead of Bravo. Bravo did really well in India, but these are the flattest wickets in the planet, so I am not reading much into that. This Aus tour will make or break Bravo.

In odis it's Kohli, daylight, some more daylight and then far in the horizon Bravo. Overall if I had to pick one across all formats it would be Kohli.

Chandimal and also all jokes aside I still think Umar akmal has it in him to be a top batsman but time is running out for him.

From what I've seen of Kohli he isn't good in Tests but he has shown he could change. Bravo-in my opinion-is MUCH better in tests so far and it appears to me that he prefers test cricket. (PS:I think Rohit Sharma-given the chance-will prove himself much better than Kohli)
