Ultimate_Game
Kiwis made the right decision. Vettori is much more useful in shorter formats than Tests. In Tests he isn't effective at all and in shorter formats he can at least keep it quiet and get wkts when batsmen are attacking him. I would say his selection is a big plus for kiwis. Link to comment
Ultimate_Game
Paki' date=' SL and Aussie bowling is very strong. But the batting department has a gaping hole. India anyway will score some runs, and the helpful bowling conditions will only enhance their chances. England, SAF and WI has attacks out of thsi world with quality (with both pace and spin). In SL conditions it will be bowlers who bowl with high arm actions and produce plenty of bounce will be the difficult customers. Slingas and shorter bowlers will not be as sucessful unless they swing the ball appreceiably.[/quote'] I wouldn't put Aus bowling as strong as others. They don't have genuine spinners, unless Brad Hogg is back in Aus T20 team, for SC conditions. If Hogg is around yup Aussie bowling will be pretty good. Also, I would put Pak bowling ahead of SL. Pak have likes of Ajmal, Afridi and Gul who are quite good in T20s whereas SL relies too much on Malinga. After Murali, SL doesn't have anyone who can keep it tight in the middle overs and if Malinga has an off day they will struggle. As for India and its batting, batting doesn't make that much difference in T20s. Indian batsmen have more quality in the sense they can play a longer innings when set which helps in odis where a batsman can go on to make a big score a la Kohli, Gambhir or Dhoni. But in T20s a quickfire 30 or 40 is what's needed and India's batting quality doesn't have the same impact as in odis. Link to comment

thongale
Pakistan do have a better spin attack than SL, but seam attack is no comparison with SL. Malinga, Perera, kulasekara and Mathews have been doing better than all the Pakistani seamers in limited over matches. And unlike others SL seamers know how to bowl on slow tracks when the ball is swinging. India should bring in both Pathan and Kumar to play on these conditions with Zaheer. Umesh Yadav will get ass raped against SA/AUS/SAF/ENG if he keeps bowling the lines that he dished in last tour. Above three swing bowlers will make a commendable combination of swing bowling. Either way we don't have decent options. In T20 Pak do have decent pacers in Gul & Tanvir. Tanvir's wrong footed bowling action puts off batsmen and Gul is still pretty good in T20s, especially at the death. One factor in favor of SL is their medium paced all-rounders in Perera & Kulasekara which allow them to bat deep. Pakis have the same advantage in their spin based all-rounders. But to me the Pak attack overall looks slightly better and more well-rounded. Link to comment
