batsmen dont win test matches, but if i had to pick one from the list, i'd take tendulkar. take out the cheap runs against west indies and new zealand, and he has the highest average and the most hundreds by a distance (12 vs rahul dravid's 7). it's easily anil kumble. kapil dev didnt make the list but he has 89 wickets @ 18, close 2nd.

you are right, runs scored against world class greatest of all time legendary bowlers like sammy, roach, dillon, cuffy, collins is really difficult, those arent cheap runs at all. my first day back on ICF, and this is the first reply i get to read...LMFAO, they should u make u a moderator :yay:

Conditions matter most who ever bowler you face. In tough conditions for batting, any bowler can look world beater.

Because he didnt bother to tour West Indies after 2002 , the same time from when West Indies have become a Z Grade team. Any wins after that have no more significance than a series in Zim or Bd .

Poeple here seem to rate a win over WI post 2000 and NZ on par with a win in SA, England or Australia. Good to see some fine knowledge on display I would go with Sachin, it was close with Kumble but Sachin has done it for longer. Also, during India's rise to no 1 in tests, Sachin was a key contributor in those 1 and 1/2 year period
