Manny_Pacquiao Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 batsmen dont win test matches, but if i had to pick one from the list, i'd take tendulkar. take out the cheap runs against west indies and new zealand, and he has the highest average and the most hundreds by a distance (12 vs rahul dravid's 7). it's easily anil kumble. kapil dev didnt make the list but he has 89 wickets @ 18, close 2nd.

Manny_Pacquiao Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Cheap runs against WI. :haha: Tendulkar is yet to win a test series in WI. you are right, runs scored against world class greatest of all time legendary bowlers like sammy, roach, dillon, cuffy, collins is really difficult, those arent cheap runs at all. my first day back on ICF, and this is the first reply i get to read...LMFAO, they should u make u a moderator :yay:

We should have lost series there too if not for Dravid.

In tough conditions for batting, any bowler can look world beater.
shinchan Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 bhajji & kumble combination on indian pitches:hatsoff: also sachin tendulkar:two_thumbs_up:

yoda Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 RD hands down. If I had an option to vote joint, would add Kumble to the list. Some of our greatest wins, RD either has been 1st or 2nd highest scorer.
zaqw222222 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Anil kumble. won so many matches coz of him in 90's and 00.
Andrew Peter Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Cheap runs against WI. :haha: Tendulkar is yet to win a test series in WI. Because he didnt bother to tour West Indies after 2002 , the same time from when West Indies have become a Z Grade team. Any wins after that have no more significance than a series in Zim or Bd .
Ponka Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Not sure why Ponka's message was deleted earlier. Just said Kumble is India's best match winner whereas Tendulkar is not one.
Marut Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Dravid, Sehwag, Vishwanath - batting wise. Kapil Dev, Kumble, the famous spin quartet - bowling wise.
CSK Fan Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Poeple here seem to rate a win over WI post 2000 and NZ on par with a win in SA, England or Australia. Good to see some fine knowledge on display I would go with Sachin, it was close with Kumble but Sachin has done it for longer. Also, during India's rise to no 1 in tests, Sachin was a key contributor in those 1 and 1/2 year period
fuub Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Anyone have the statistics of team win/draw/losses when the options for Indias 6 greatest match winners of all time played together??
