MCcricket Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Shahbaz has been very impressive Awana bowled well Rahane batted very well. Hoping to see Suyal , Shukla, Kamran, Tyagi, Gony, Abu, Iqbal Abdulla in action also S Binny is not a bad option for t20.
rkt.india Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Have you come around and started rating Ashok Dinda? Or do you just think he is in good form. I think he is a better option than Sreesanth or Ishant Sharma and offers a similar aggressive bowling style. I have always rated Dinda in T20s, which is his forte as he can bowl full tilt for 4 overs, but he will sustain that effort for long is questionable for me. He has taken wickets in FC, but test cricket will be hard for him because his action is too tedious and needs lots of effort.
MCcricket Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Although he is not playing this year, I was very impressed with P Parmeswaran last year for KTK, STRONG , WELL BUILT, GOOD ACTION, LEFT HANDED, COULD BOWL 140 PLUS ,also has done well for Kerala, even KAMRAN LOOKED GOOD WHEN HE MADE DEBUT FOR RR, a left handed slinger with pace, could be groomed like SL groomed Malinga.
MCcricket Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Let us agree Gayle is the best t20 batter in the world, even R Sharma was torn to shreds in the last game but he did not bowl bad , in fact even when he was being hit he bowled in good areas and infact slowed down the last few balls and flighted his deliveries that shows he is good, Broad was hit for 6 sixes what does it make him, I normally tend to ignore sarcastic or mischief makers but maybe for the last time m replying to ur comment.

No need to overthink and make speculative assumptions when evidence is there.

His bowling Asia cup and IPL has been completely opposite. He barely touched 140 in Asia cup, mainly bowling in low 130s to mid 130s, as he was not putting much effort then as he had to bowl 10 overs in a match. In IPL, he put extra efforts in every match and could not sustain that. I doubt he could have survived 4 tests in Australia with as much effort as he put in IPL while in IPL he had to bowl quick just for short spells over 4 overs. His bowling action is too strenuous for me for a test match bowler

Which should give him ample time to recuperate. Which he did in Asia Cup and still didn't hit those 140 plus speed we see in IPL.

All 4 bowlers may not be at their best every time. In that situation, the one who is bowling the best will have to bowl more. It is practically impossible. 4-5 overs is a minimal spell in tests.
deathmonger Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 three odi under his name.:yikes: average of infinity. greatest batsman in the world.
rkt.india Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Dinda did hit 146.5 in the Asia Cup :protest: One ball that must be speed gun error. He was not clocking 140 let alone 146.
msb1991 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 See what happened to Dinda when he put effort in his bowling side strain. His bowling Asia cup and IPL has been completely opposite. I don't buy this. Saying he got injured by putting in too much effort is silly. All fast bowlers get injured. He barely touched 140 in Asia cup' date=' mainly bowling in low 130s to mid 130s, as he was not putting much effort then as he had to bowl 10 overs in a match. In IPL, he put extra efforts in every match and could not sustain that.[/quote'] Yes, he bowls slightly quicker in IPL cricket. He definitely can bowl 140kph in ODIs though, I've seen it when he played against Zimbabwe. You don't have to make this complicated assessment, rkt. It doesn't matter about effort and whatnot, he has bowled hundreds of overs in First Class cricket and done well enough to get wickets. It is rare that there is a bowler who can take wickets in limited overs cricket against international batsmen, has done well in First Class cricket, and cannot do well in Test cricket. The three do not tend to go together. That is simple empirical, no complicated judgement about his action required. Someone judging upon action would never have judged the success of Colin Croft or Mike Proctor, but they are two great bowlers.
msb1991 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 One ball that must be speed gun error. He was not clocking 140 let alone 146. Not that it is important, because top speed is the least important thing in the world. However, he has the ability to bowl 146kph and it was an effort ball bouncer - there is no reason why it has to be an error. I maintain though that ICF needs to stop this obsession with top speeds. If there is a bowler who bowls mainly in the 130s and bowled one over once at 150kph in his career (where rhythm was perfect or w/e), there would be no reason to rate him above another bowler who bowls 130kph who has not had this one over.
rkt.india Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Veer Pratap is one to watch out for in next 2-3 years, 19 year old, tall strong lad, clocking good pace.
Magneto Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 One ball that must be speed gun error. He was not clocking 140 let alone 146. It wasn't. It was a really quick delivery. Quite a few other balls also hit 140.
Old guy Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 that ball from dinda was quick.. and this guy can hit 140 easily but so can most bowlers from other countries its not a big deal tbh
