Number Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Not a good pitch for batting. Culprit is Rahul Sharma , specialist spinner who couldn't buy wickets on a square turner. Darekar, Shami, Dinda and Pujara :nice:
GautiMaan Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 You guys are taking this way too seriously, the primary aim is to identify the future prospects not to win.Pujara and Ahmed have shown their class,Rohit keeps us guessing as always. Tiwary,Dhawan,Mukund and Rahul Sharma=:fail:

Darekar, Shami, Dinda and Pujara :nice: and tht result is good enough for me.. we already have one new bowler in umesh playing test and kohli as batsman.. and remember our national team lost 4-0 i no longer expect good results :P if rahane can fire in last game and awana plays and performs it would be good tour

Darekar, Shami, Dinda and Pujara :nice: I am quite dissapointed in Rahul,I was hoping he could use his height like Kumble did but he has not shown any aptitude for the longer game so far.
cowboysfan Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Indian team has 9 players who have played either odis or tests where as WI have two still it took a miracle to win first match and in second they are totally outplayed. They are following the great footsteps of maharathis who made their careers losing miserably overseas with odd performance sprinkled here and there. This is so familiar story of our FTBs, they look like chumps on wickets with some life and yet we blame our bowlers for all the failures overseas. Isnt it time for a real fundamental change? BCCI can order the state associations to prepare quicker pitches in Ranjis and other tournaments but they refuse to do it on a consistent basis and we continue to turn out FTBS who cannot put bat to ball overseas.
msb1991 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 except losers like Dhawan Not even Dhawan. His First Class performances have been solid in the past few seasons.
msb1991 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Rohit .....as usual flashy and not applying himself.....dont deserve to be in the test sqaud unless he realises the importance of his extra-ordinary skills...... Two matches have been played. Both matches have been low scoring. Calm down.

How are they supposed to learn if they are written off by fans like you after every failure? You play in these tours to improve. Very few are immediately the finished article. We blamed our bowlers for our failures overseas because they were the issue along with the openers, our middle order was very good worldwide in the 1990s and 2000s. There are not single unchanging problems in cricket, problems change and so must solutions - your attempt to find a single fault in Indian batting across the ages is misguided.
msb1991 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Not a good pitch for batting. Culprit is Rahul Sharma , specialist spinner who couldn't buy wickets on a square turner. Darekar, Shami, Dinda and Pujara :nice: Awana or B Kumar to come in for Sharma will strengthen the bowling line up greatly. I'd suggest Kumar, there is no point Awana coming in, straight off a plane, to play one game. Kumar also strengthens the batting. Awana can play in the OD leg of the tour and then in the FC games against New Zealand A.
msb1991 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 I am quite dissapointed in Rahul' date='I was hoping he could use his height like Kumble did but he has not shown any aptitude for the longer game so far.[/quote'] No offence, but this sort of attitude is what is wrong. You should judge a player by First Class performances first - Rahul's is awful. If we have several players with similarly good FC records, we can then talk of things like height or speed.
ganeshran Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Next up is the tour to NZ. Lets hope our team puts up a better performance there. Good job by the BCCI to finally organize these tours.

saneindian Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 If after a loss in A match, there are such extreme reactions, I don't even want to imagine the kind of backlash the younger batsmen would get IF we were to lose a home series (which is very much possible) once the big guns go (or are forced out as desired by many of us). Yes the batsmen have not been upto the mark and deserve the criticism, but to read comments calling some of these young players as 'losers' and 'jokers' is sickening. Imagine the amount of abuse they will cope if this was to happen in an international series!
Tiger-Don Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012  ...Tiwary should've steped up and should've score atleast 6 more runs....he is too good of a batsmen to get out to this weak bowlers
vvvslaxman Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Isnt it time for a real fundamental change? BCCI can order the state associations to prepare quicker pitches in Ranjis and other tournaments but they refuse to do it on a consistent basis and we continue to turn out FTBS who cannot put bat to ball overseas. This pitch was more a spin friendly surface than a seamers paradise. There are some pitches where you have to put your head down and build your innings brick by brick. test for temperament and technique. Apart from Pujara nobody has displayed that.

This performance is particularly troubling because it was spin oriented pitch and yet the batting failed and I am afraid player like Rohit Sharma who is living on potential for last five years may end up with career which will fizzle out. Kudos to BCCI for this tour, these tours will give these youngsters a chance to play and learn on different conditions
jairamesh Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 So does this mean that West Indies' Test future is actually brighter than India's Test future.
