adi B Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 If after a loss in A match, there are such extreme reactions, I don't even want to imagine the kind of backlash the younger batsmen would get IF we were to lose a home series (which is very much possible) once the big guns go (or are forced out as desired by many of us). Yes the batsmen have not been upto the mark and deserve the criticism, but to read comments calling some of these young players as 'losers' and 'jokers' is sickening. Imagine the amount of abuse they will cope if this was to happen in an international series! in india, cricket is the only major sport which is lived upon.. we have the richest board, few days ago we were doing great, so all in all, the only sports where we are a power to recon with, and we are doing sh1t in it... at least we have to be a superpower in one sports, which happenns to be cricket, so its not at all unusual to see the fans criticizing them..

This HAS to happen and this WILL happen!!

BCCI can order the state associations to prepare quicker pitches in Ranjis and other tournaments but they refuse to do it on a consistent basis and we continue to turn out FTBS who cannot put bat to ball overseas. They lost this match on a dust bowl uneven pitch not because it was quick.

But those who are not ready to accept why things are happening have no right to criticize. Earlier we faltered due to lack of exposure on quick pitches, never against spinners, on turning tracks. Now that is also happening. So?

ganeshran Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 These A- tours are not showing a new problem. they are merely exposing the flaws in our domestic structure that should have come out long back. Its appalling that people are quick to blame a 5- year tournament and not the 80 year old premier domestic competition through which almost all (except Rahul Sharma) players came through. The basics (and flaws in them) of the A-squad were not developed in the post IPL era. If anything that needs improvement , its the Ranji trophy where sporting pitches need to be prepared and better infrastructure needs to be developed. If anything the IPL money should be used to this and to provide better pay for the Ranji cricketers
Needforspeed Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Players from all the countries play in some T20 tournament or other..In fact many Aussies, South Africans etc play in more than one T20 tournament including the IPL. How come only Indians players' techniques are effected by T20? The Aussies played a Test series against India immediatly after the Bigbash winning 4-0. Most of the big South Africans play in both IPL and the MiWay T20 Challenge tournament..and yet their Test performance has not suffered. These facts shows the fallacy of the IPL connection to the Indian Test performance.

So, life is not a set of easy to define problems and successes which are constantly unchanging unless there is some overhauling explanation for the change. No one ever suggested our batsmen were faultless against spin.
