The batting line-up looks pretty destructive with the likes of AB, Kallis, A Morkel, Du Plessis all in decent form at the moment. Other names include Botha, Duminy, Parnell and of course Graeme Smith.

Ultimate_Game Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 IMO top 4 T20 teams are... 1. Pakistan - They are ideally suited to the shortest format as they don't need to build long innings or score a lot. A quick 20 or 30 from the likes of Akmals, Razzaqs & Afridis are more than enough. Plus bunch of all-rounders in Hafeez, Afridi etc. will make a difference in T20s and they have Gul & Ajmal to fall back on in the T20 format. 2. SA - Great batting depth along with some outstanding bowlers in Steyn & Morkel along with spin-based all-rounders in the form of Peterson, Van der Merwe & Botha. 3. WI - If Gayle is back in the WI fold they will have one of the strongest teams with bunch of big hitting all-rounders like Bravo, Andre Russell, Dwayne Smith & Pollard to call upon. Like Pakistan they don't need to score big and only score a quick 20-30 to make the difference. Plus this time they have quality spin attack in Naraine & Bishoo. 4. Aus - With likes of Warner, Watson, Christian & Hussey bros they have enough firepower, and if Hogg is back they will have decent spin option as well. Plus they are Aussies who will be competitive no matter what. India unfortunately don't have any bowling depth to compete in the T20 format. We don't even have one go-to bowler and I don't think we can defend any total. Even SL has a Malinga but we have nobody to turn to. India's strength is quality batting but in the T20 format that advantage is significantly reduced. In T20 format a Virat Kohli is on par with a Akmal as you don't need to build a big innings, and only score quick 20s/30s/40s. Thus a lineup of Sehwag, Gambhir, Kohli, Rohit, Dhoni, Raina, Yusuf/Irfan doesn't sound that intimidating. The most worrying part is that we have no all-rounders to speak of. In T20s you need a couple of bits & pieces players but we don't have anyone other than Jadeja or Irfan. Jadeja is a failure at intl level and Irfan may not be suited to SL pitches for the T20 World Cup. And we don't even have a decent spin attack as even the likes of WI have a better spin attack than us

For a T20 game they can manage it though. Indian team is good for nothing. Don't build your expectations.

We are like England in footie - with the richest and biggest league but nothing to show for at intl level. We simply don't have the bowlers to do anything in T20s. You can't chase 180+ or score 200+ batting first everytime in T20s.
