This was very slow pitch' date=' bounce was low.. Gauti effortlessly pulling 148 kph balls should have kind given an idea what was in store for DD and used the resoures accordingly.[/quote'] True. As Sehwag had succeeded previously with a 3 fast-bowler and 1 medium pacer approach previously, it might not have been easy for him to drop any of them before seeing how the pitch actually behaved. But after he saw that 148 k deliveries were being pulled effortlessly, he should have used himself and Venu maybe and used the quicks less.

The bowling was on the brainless side but they can be forgiven partially as are young and raw. However Sehwag seem to get stupider the older he gets, just makes dumb decisions both as captain and batsman again and again.

Aaron in particular is unbelievably clueless.
He was a bit unlucky. One of the 6's hit off his bowling was a mishit and another of his 6's should have been caught.

I think DD were doing well and were looking to restrict them around 145 or so till 17 overs but last 3 overs changed every thing. I dont think Aaron bowled badly he was clear in his mind and was trying to bowl yorkets but it was just one of those days where he couldnt execute them well, normally he bowls good yorkers and then drop catch of Pathan cost them 14 runs in 3 balls.

its brainlesss of you all to keep on blaming these 2 for everything. This was a slow pitch where there was nothing for the pace bowlers. Thats why they were being carted all over the ground. Sehwag who has the lowest IQ among all the captains in the IPL is to be blamed. Srsly, after the last match in Pune, they shudve known that the pitch suits spinners

Lol. When you have someone like Dale Steyn spanked around like a school kid for 25 runs off one over, what chance does greenhorns like Yadav and Aaron have. However, it is very disturbing to see some of India's most promising young fast bowling talent being swatted around in some really flat pitches by some brutal hitters. Seeing somebody like Aaron drop his head in disappointment makes you wonder how much confidence this kid would have lost. Remember - Ishant was at his absolute peak and had the world at his feet when IPL 1 kickstarted. He got smashed around in that edition and subsequently, in some ODIs also and he has never been the same bowler. Hopefully, that same fate does not befall somebody like Yadav or Aaron.

@ ram.. this is how cricket is now u get roads even in tests and monsters like abdv hit 100's it all depends on mentality of bowler i think if he can learn from this and improve then gr8 if he is demorolised and starts bowling like munaf then i think he was never going to succeed like morne morkel said in one of his interviews (or maybe it was article don know too sleepy lol ) tht u have to just concentrate on ball ur going to bowl i guess he learnt his lesson after getting smacked before..and even he got smacked in this match but im damn sure hwill make a good come back in next game..i will call this bowler's temperament :P most of our talented bowlers lacked this

Aaron is a level headed youngster. He is well educated and well versed about the art. He knows how to approach and improve. He did exactly what is expected to do in last overs, but it was one of those days where he could not execute his yorkers well. he didn't experiment much and he knew what to do, but on some days things don't go your way.

Really guys Delhi is a team like Sehwag..Brute force. Whether batting or bowling. On days when it works, they look unbeatable. Dont write off Yadav and Aaron yet. Delhi simply doesn't have quality spinners. But yes ..on this pitch Nadeem would have been a better option than one of the pacers. Still it was a winnable match for Delhi, because they have the batting to chase down 162 on any pitch. Losing both the openers early, probably cost them the match. Imagine if Sehwag and Warner had stayed around for 8 overs.

when did i say he is not? i always liked his bowling joined this site following ur thread on him :winky: i just hope he learns from it and next time bowls better length for pitch and not get pressurized even if hit for six on first ball i know htis is not a good comparison but i think chawla can be a pretty good leggie but he is mentally not good enough one reverse shot from peterson (south african spinner) and he was so confused he cant handle pressure as bowler now a days u need to learn handle it as every batsman can hit u out of park on his day on these flat tracks -__-

yaa...most bowlers get hit in T20 especially you cant do much on low percentage shots if they got for runs...bowl can just bowl straight and hope batsman misses. Had Warner taken than catch, it could have been a different story.

If he can stay injury free and fine tune his runup, he may become the fastest bowler India have produced in next 2-3 years.

Guys it's not just about selection (which was lame). At least IP tried to adjust to the pitch by bowling slower ones. The other three (Morkel included) seemed to have missed out on a very basic strategy. It's not enough to say "the pitch isn't good for us". You have to adjust. Then again, with a captain like Sehwag ("i just let them bowl freely") this isn't surprising.
