kubrickian Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 ecb and english people will hate ipl even more now :phehehe: Haters gonna hate. :bootyshake:
BERGKAMP Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 it's a huge blow to the actual england odi team though, he was their one and only explosive + truly world class player, and now he has ditched them to become a t20 mercenary.
maverick451 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Its a shame because he's been shite at ODis for about 2 years now but recently has gone back to his attacking ways and been alot better. I think its a backwards move
rkt.india Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 it's a huge blow to the actual england odi team though' date=' he was their one and only explosive + truly world class player, and now he has ditched them to become a t20 mercenary.[/quote'] He has been very ordinary in ODIs in last 3 years.
BERGKAMP Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 he had the x factor though, even if he was not in the best of form. you would always fear him coming in, and think the game is not over while kp still has to bat. their batting line up will now look like - bedwetter cook trott morgan bopara bairstow patel can't see many teams losing much sleep over this.
Vilander Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 This has got Gayle wicb 2.0 written all over it, only this time its Kp ECB..wtf man. He says he can not play in world ŽÂ´t20 because ecb wont have him there unless he commits to all year around odi, which is ****. World t20 for me became a bit less atractive if players like gayle,kp dont play. The deeper question is, if IPL is indeed the reason for gun players around the world retiring from national duties, then would we be able to sustain the supply of internation gun players in the long run, what i mean is would gayles, and kp's continue to come through if these present day gun players dont play in internation tournies. in the end, is IPL eating itself out? without international game, there is no meaning in IPL seriously. WTF man

WTF man IMO it will be the other way around... Some one playing in local T20 league will be talent hunted by one of the IPL franchisees, he gets to play IPL, make a mark and is drafted in to national duty by his country... From International players becoming IPL players, it will be IPL players becoming international players Eg: Pollard, Warner, our own Jaddu
Chalks Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 IPL has indeed helped kickstart a few people's careers. There is Warner, of course, and also Shane Watson. Watto was an injury-prone bits-and-pieces player for Oz before he and Warnie guided Rajasthan to the inaugural IPL title. Since then (barring missing last Oz summer due to injury again), he hasn't looked back.
Stuge Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 WOW .. what a blow .I see something else brewing for this decision of his .
vvvslaxman Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 and IPL :) already English fans echo that :cantstop: This is all about the IPL. Pietersen's main interest is himself and the IPL fits his objectives - one day internationals and T20 just get in the way. Test cricket is convenient for him because it keeps him in the public eye. The ECB should take a long hard look at his overall commitment to England and then ditch him in favour of emerging talent. - The Full English, Shropshire, 31/5/2012 12:51 Click to rate Rating 7 Report abuse Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/article-2152637/Kevin-Pietersen-retires-limited-overs-cricket.html#ixzz1wS5QNeHz
