Why do Southie movies have Northie heroines?

This isn't about individual preferences. Racism isn't about over-the-top verbal abusing, it's about being treated differently, about being made to feel because of institutionalized prejudices that you are not good enough because the colour of your skin isn't the right shade. Being fed the message that boys won't find you attractive or fall madly in love with you unless you are like this.
It seems u are set on picturing us as racist,so nothing i say will change ur mind
That is great. If she isn't the current heartthrob for tamil youth then who is it?
That differs for each person, though anushka shetty would be a reasonable guess(google her u wont be dissapointed:winky:)

Let me put it this way, when the Greeks made statues of women they modeled it on Greek women. When the Egyptians drew their people, the women were Egyptian women. da Vinci painted an Italian woman as Mona Lisa. Not for a change, not if it is required, but as a practice.

Look at Raja Ravi Varma's paintings. He painted only Kerala women. But when I want to watch pornography, I love watching Japanese and Western women. Similar is the case with Southies watching some Narthie flesh.

Dravid is Marathi so can he be considered as an ethnic South Indian. WTF is that last statement about?

Shall I tell why??? Because Northies will do anything for money, shed their clothes I mean(no offence, its true!) They are always ready to give skin shows in skimpy outfits! This is the primary reason they feature in our cinemas

lolwut? And southie heroines dont show any skin at all? :haha: Regarding Kataria's question, I dont think the average viewer even knows whether the heroine is southie or northie. All they want is pretty young things (who are fair too) and can dance a bit while lip syncing the dialogues. There are plenty of southie girls like that too, even though the proportion of fair skin is definitely higher in the north, its not exclusive to the north. Hence the viewers or southern women do not see it as an external influence. Even if northie heroines were banned tomorrow from the southern industry, the directors will still cast pretty and fair women from the south in the movies and viewers wont really notice the difference.

I hope we dont keep going in circles

It's an attitude which is projected from the racist amongst the light-skinned people but fully accepted and endorsed by dark-skinned people. It's the southern film industry's job and not the Punjabi/Kashmiri/Assamese film industry's to represent dark-skinned beauty on screen.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard ...wonder what Late Silk Smitha, Shakeela, Abhilasha, Pratibha would think of that

But choice of actresses is not entirely in the hands of audiences. It is in the hands of producers or directors sometimes actors..
