This lad, only 16, is a serious talent. He made a ton against SA u19 on his first tour to SA earlier this year and today he has hit another ton against India u19. With Babar Azam he can form a very fine opning pair for Pakistan in future inshaAllah

If you look at his pictures on cricinfo, he surely looks like a little kid.

How's his footwork?
He apparantly plays the moving ball quite well it seems. He scored heavily in SA where the ball bounces and even today he saw off the new ball before playing his shots.

I thought Awais Zia was the new sensation.
Awais was never considered a good batsman. He is a t20 slogger who got into the side on the back of couple of decent knocks.

Get that hack Umar Akmal to open the innings. The boy has enough technique to open, and bowlers will know that they cannot take liberties with him. Playing him in lower middle order is just a waste.

Well I think they can certainly throw him in in test team. It can't do much harm.
It's too early to throw a 16 year old in. Needs to be nurtured properly with enough u19 and A tours abroad.

In normal course yes I would agree with you. But given the batting talent I have seen on display, I would bet on a complete newcomer and invest an year or so in him. P.S. I haven't seen him play though

Another wannabe Afridi in the making :fear: As for talent we have seen that already how the likes of Shaizab, Shehzad, Nazir, Hasan Raza etc. were hyped up  Virtually every series Pakis are busy hyping up the "next Bradman" and I distinctly recall how Akmal was supposed to be "combination of Tendulkar and Miandad" :hysterical:

Seems to be good but too early to call. Let him prove himself in FC games. And Century against Indian bowlers shouldn't be taken seriously.:giggle:

Awais ZiaSuriya. :cantstop:

Cow lashing legend in the making. About the OP, will PCB push him early at the highest level ? Something like the SA tour to face Steyn & Co. just like Tendulkar battled it out in 1989. We're talking serious talent here, right ?
