His bowling is certainly relished by batsmen though. Sreesanth is an arese, but he bowled quick. when in rythm he even went till 149ks. He was capable of producing 145 on good days, never went below 135. He is a definite fast medium guy. Agarkar was much like him just that he used to hover around 140 much more.

I mean there are scores of more successful pacemen around the globe in international level who would love to have his attributes, and this guy somehow manages to botch it still. Its funny how Aussie fans ( from ponting memory) are perplexed how this guy has gone waste, they cant believe it.

He said his effort was 11/10. Agree. Max 145.3 Kph. He bowled few 140+ deliveries in first 3 overs after that he was in his usual 130-137 range.
carnish Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Gough wayward lol? He was one of the most reliable people for England even at death in ODI. Really good bowler IMO. Same for Streak. I agree Gough was good with his yorkers but most times he bowled a length batsmen cherished to play strokes from. His length was such that batsmen found it in their zone to drive. Same with Heath Streak.. I know he was one of the most economical bowlers in his time alongwith McGrath and Pollock but yet his length used to be set up perfectly to drive.. I was not commenting about bowlers who leaked a lot of runs or who were wayward.. I was rather saying that these bowlers mostly bowled on similar lengths as Agarkar or Sami does.. Just that they had better control over their balls and better line that helped them not give away too many runs.

I know Streak and Gough were good, I would also say Johnson was good too but their length were such that if they played in todays day they would have given a lot more runs. I would also like to include one more name to that list ... Again from Zimbhinabwe .. Henry Olonga .. I think he too bowled that drivable length that batsmen love especially in SC when there is no swing

MechEng Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Agarkar wasn't really a fast bowler, he was more fast-medium type tbh. He did hit 147 kph on occasions but his average speed was around 136-137 kph. RP Singh used to bowl at 90 mph consistently in 2007. He was BLOODY GOOD in that year!
MechEng Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 The reason why I don't like Sreesanth is because he doesn't have patience. Patience is the ULTIMATE SKILL of Test Cricket. You may be talented, but if you don't have patience you are USELESS in Tests. It applies to both batsmen and bowlers.
