Geoff Boycott Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Where are these guys when there team needs them most? There was the time when the interweb was full of 'em; offering advice on how teams could improve their performances, what players to drop, tactics to employ, Australian examples to follow. Oh how helpful they were, even if they had never played the game or picked up a red cherry in anger, they knew what was best for our team. Even seasoned professionals from other nations couldn't compete with the wealth of cricket knowledge they graciously bestowed. Bless them. Where are they these days?

Dude after being Australia's bi@tch for ages and not able to win a series in more than 20 years you should be the last person to crow about England and that too after a odi series win :haha: I am not a big fan of Aussies but you have to admire what they achieved in 90s & noughties - 3 consecutive WCs, Test wins everywhere and the way they made SA & Eng their bi@tches :giggle:
panther Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 aus will be back but they need a good spinner if they want to win in the sc no lack of pace resources or batting.
vvvslaxman Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Don't worry lot of experts will advise (including Bangladesh) about how to bat in spinning conditions.
panther Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Don't worry lot of experts will advise (including Bangladesh) about how to bat in spinning conditions. they did beat sri lanka in sri lanka last year, but conditions were more pace friendly due to monsoon season.
Clarke Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 :haha: Yeah where are they, i mean they have been #1 for more than a decade and won 3 WCs but we, the English are now rank 3!!! What an achievement!
goggi Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Is this idiot OP for real? For the last 20 years Australia raped England over and over again turning them into minnows in the late 90s. England should be thankful to Chennai for giving them a son who instilled in them some steel to be competitive again.
Geoff Boycott Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 Sorry about your poor comprehension skills chaps...... This has nothing to do with the strength or weakness of the Australian cricket team, but everything to do with the Australian armchair cricket fans; the guys who thought they knew everything about cricket, just because they had a successful team. They seem to have disappeared from the interweb, since their team's decline. Carry on....

It happens sometimes, people become senile so I don't blame you so carry on...

Spiderguy252 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I love Australia. Hate England. If any of these two are to be #1, I'd take the Aussies anyday.

Cricket Tragic Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Tbh, Aussie fans were remarkably grounded given how ****ing good their team was. You realise this when you see some of the English fans today. :giggle:
Spiderguy252 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Tbh' date=' Aussie fans were remarkably grounded given how ****ing good their team was. You realise this when you see some of the English fans today. :giggle:[/quote'] Absolutely, you could make this out from the England 4-0 versus the Aussie 4-0. This in turn is because of the varied culture present in the two countries. Australia expect to win and once there, do not gloat. That's just the way their sportsmen and their fans have been brought up. England on the other hand, is a country that is success starved in most spheres of life, and in all sports. So when a bunch of South Africans and Irishmen assist the mediocre Collingwoods, Boparas, etc. and take them to the top, they want to thump their chests and yell out obscenities to the rest of the world. This is especially prevalent when you have that so called legend, Ian Botham come out with statements to the effect of "Back when England were a bad team, I uses to seldom get respect from fellow commentators and crowds worldwide. I am very glad they are doing well now, so I can avoid questions like - "So why are England so poor, Beefy?" ". WTF? What a hilarious nation these guys live in. Just last week their overpaid prima donnas were kicked out of a beloved Europe football tournament - their most beloved sport, where they get manhandled and pantsed time and again from fellow footballing nations. God bless them. And I hope Steyn, Philander and co. absolutely rip them to pieces this summer.
