As daryl1985 mentioned Sehwag is a must for Sub-continent. Plus Sehwag still has 3-4 years left in him and it's not as if we have any decent replacements waiting after seeing Mukund with the India A team in WI. We had to wait nearly 15 years before we managed to unearth a decent opener in Sehwag post Gavaskar and it's no coincidence that our team looked the best with Sehwag as an opener.
lets hope ur right... but attitude like this harms the team in long run and he s sure flop abroad so what about future?

As I said if a better option is around sure go ahead and drop Sehwag but whether at home or abroad if the best opening option we have is Mukund then we may as well stick with Sehwag. Mukund really was a huge disappointment on the Ind A tour to WI.

lets open with rahane i know he is probably not a opener but i think he opened before and played at no 3 so will do just fine i guess and we have learnt now tht we wont find ready made test cricketers even kohli wasnt ready we need to play these guys in tests and give them long run but with sehwag we might end up with rookie opener debuting in south africa against steyn and co :cantstop:

Maybe Mukund just doesn't like the West Indies. We even took him on our real team before the England tour last year and he was more or less a flop. Yes, he did more than Vijay but heck, even I could have managed that.

People who want Sehwag dropped should take a look at the performance of Rahane and Mukund on the A tour. They averaged 8.
1 bad year and Sehwag is suddenly worst player or not good enough to play for India. :giggle:

lol...he is not a worst player but he was terribely out of form and honestly not even bothered 1 % by lack of his own performance a drop from one series will solve many things he will stop having those ego wars.. also he will take things lil seriously after failing to cross 50 in australia i think he did it in first match after tht was flop through out well u gotta drop non performing players .. and think abt future too cos way he is playing things will ony get worse when we tour abroad again and 0-2 after 3 overs with no dravid is not gonna help

public memory is very short. Failure in a few Tests is enough for them to ask that a particular player be dropped :(

If Sehwag smashed a couple of hundreds in the home season, many people will jump ship again. Anyway, Sehwag plays at the start of the season. No debate. Then we can see how things go.

Sehwag is undroppable if a match is in subcontinent but outside SC he is as a good as a tailender. Look at his record overseas since 2008 Aussie tour.

lol @ people discussing about team against NZ... "A" team sent to WI is more than enough for a clean sweep [in Indian conditions] :hysterical:

both venues bad for india..i guess bcci wanted to give these manhoos venues easy matches' date=' like nzl, but honestly i wont be surprised if it ends 0-0 , or nzl wins the bangalore test[/quote'] Haven't we won some important games at Bangalore? The WC game against Pakistan. And some test match by a very narrow margin against the Aussies. It is still considered a manhoos venue?

That was Mohali. Bangalore is a boring place for test matches. I mean who wants to see opposition batting for 2 days in case they win the toss.
