MCcricket Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Irfan Pathan was very impressive with the ball, very slightly modified action, he got more bounce and seam then any other bowler, he is a hard worker and needs Dhoni's support which has been lacking so far, far better then Mathews, Thisara, and other all rounders in the game. He should be playing all three formats, used more with the bat, especially on bowling tracks against fast bowlers.
ravishingravi Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I still can't for the love of god figure out how he has lost so much pace. This Guy was 135-140 at one point. Anyhow, I think he is good addition in ODI. Even he gets through 5 good overs and gets 20-30 odd , that is exactly what this team needs.

CG Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 as they say, the sun even shines on a dogs ass on some days. days like today give everyone false hope, but when the time comes and we really need him to perform he will disappoint. he is pure shite, and good teams will destroy him, as they have been doing for the last 8 years. World t20 final,Perth test cb series say hi.:hysterical::hysterical:
rkt.india Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Change in action? Looked more like what he did when he first came into the team. He had change even in Aus, but was very mechanical, then he worked on this action after Aus tour and tried that action in IPL, but wasn't stable and was going back and forth on his action every next match. This is much better. He must stick to this. He may not generate pace, but will more accurate as he is more stable at the crease and not falling. Though, this action is still not what when he first that was very different that had quicker runup, jump forward at the crease, and more side. He should always play as #7 bat and third seamer. That way we can play 2 seamers and 2 spinners in subcontinent or an extra seamer in place of a spinner in seaming conditions and need to give Pathan and Ashwin more responsibility as batsmen and they both are capable batsmen.
Sidhoni Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Good performance today. Was the best of our bowlers. Lets hope he can continue this at-least for this series.
jj_28 Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 10-1-37-2 Good performance :two_thumbs_up: He's always been handy with the bat and if he can bowl like this consistently then it will be hard for anyone to not select him for the ODI
Cricket Tragic Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 "Without [Ravindra] Jadeja or Yuvraj [singh], it is difficult to make the side balanced in both departments"
