I guess Robin Singh and Venkatesh Prasad did the best job when they were at the helm 1)They understand Indian Cricket and Player Mentality pretty well 2)They are not too old,so they can gel with the players better 3)They are non-contreversial individuals. 4)They did decently at the international level I am going for Robin and Venky but you can go for a similar combo....that would be better.

A bowling coach needs time in the nets with bowlers which they rarely get because they are mostly playing matches or travelling. They need to organize a fast bowlers camp with bowling coach.

How about Sunny as batting coach and people have already suggested Sivaramakrishnan as spin coach. Fans wouldn't mind, we'll at least be spared from their trash commentary.

Sunil Gavaskar has been coach of India in the past, I guess. It all depends on what kind of coach you want. If our players are lacking ethic, I would suggest a Gavaskar or a Chappell. On the other hand, if they are lacking confidence someone like a Flemming would be more appropriate. I don't think there's an ideal coach for all times.

I don't know about Wessels' management style, but Greg Chappell was an attention-***** - a total disaster. It is good to be tough, but one has to lead by example, keep a low profile, provide structure, manage the big egos, but still stay firm in your commitment to success. That's why Gary Kirsten did well - it was never about himself, always about the team.

Nothing will change until there is equal financial opportunity for upcoming players to succeed in the longer versions of domestic cricket. Why will a talented 16/17 year old from rural India slog it out trying to perfect his defense against the swinging yorker, his 5-day cricketing stamina and slip-catching skills, when he can perfect his "Dilscoop," make a 1000x more cash in the IPL, and pull his family out of poverty? And I don't see anything wrong with it.
