There's no controversy regarding my relation with MS Dhoni, says VVS Laxman

Well this certainly confirms my suspicions on Laxman's hasty retirement. There def seems to be a rift in Indian team between seniors and their younger followers. If the Dhoni vs Sehwag/Gambhir/Sachin battles down under were public, if Ganguly's issues with Dhoni are public, it seems Laxman too has issues with Dhoni. Even if there wasn't this will only add more fuel to fires that burn within the team.

Did Laxman try reaching Dhoni before he announced his retirement to just inform him or to get more info about his future before making up his mind? If it was the latter' date=' I can see why he may be pissed that he couldn't reach him before making a career decision.[/quote'] Yes but he was "unreachable"

My take is that Laxman wanted to discuss his future with the captain once a selector gave him a 2 match deadline. He wanted to clarify this matter with Dhoni and wanted know his views but conveniently' date=' Dhoni was 'unreachable'.. Maybe Dhoni didn't wanted to do the 'dirty work' and had already discussed with the Selectors to 'sort' this issue while he doesn't takes any calls..[/quote'] i like your theories these days :cantstop:

So Dhoni and Laxman get on ok but are not best buddies who go invited to each others parties. Big deal. Its not as if they proffessionally did not get on and get the job one. Nonsense story. As if all 11 players who play together need to be good mates.

Who knows whether this is true or not. It is just a rumor after all.

Laxman uncle ki party kaafi boring hogi, kaafi simple aadmi hain vo. Ek kone mein Dravid kitaab pad raha hoga, sehwag great indian laughter challenge dekh ke has raha hoga, gambhir Iphone pe game khel raha hoga aur Mr and Mrs. Laxman pakode tal rahe honge.

I cant see MSD at fault here, its time to rebuild the team at home so we dont get humiliated like we did in Aus and England when we tour next. I understand that VVS wanted to play for sometime but at the end of the day, I dont think he could have played for more than 8-10months and that would have left us nowhere. It would have been better had couple of these maharathis been dropped after 2-0 in Eng or at least after 2-0 in Aus. As for the party, it isnt a party when 4 people are invited. Its a dinner :wall:

Problem is the main culprit the captain is continuing after 2 whitewashes and rebuilding the team.:hysterical:

Barring a bit of Kohli in Aus, how much did the rest of the youngsters do? If after 8 tests overseas, they can't show you one solid innings then isn't it time to drop these wannabes and try other kids? Why retain the same 'young talent'.

Can u think of anyone else who could lead the side?

He is a wicket keeper batsman and the best we have at the moment. I dont think we have any other player who can lead the team in test matches so its best we stick with him. In the formats where he has more control and freedom, he has done reasonably well. We have bowlers who declared themselves fit and couldnt bowl more than 3 overs on the first day, we have opening batsmen who played IPL with an injured shoulder and then declared themselves fit when they couldnt even hold the bat. We have aging batting lineup where no one was ready to make way for younger player. We have selectors who have no spine and cant drop anybody. We have no fit fast bowler (maybe yadav now) and the less said about spinner the better it is. So can you blame MSD really, IMO he should have put his foot down after 4-0 in Eng and made these changes. We would have still lost in Aus but at least these kids would have gained some experience. MSD is also at fault for his poor captaincy at times but when you no quality bowlers then you have no other option but to play defensive cricket.
