Crookbond Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Even Dhoni wants a lefty in the team.. will be handy against monty panesar vs Eng Dhoni pointed out another reason to persist with Raina. "It's important to have a left-hander at six or seven. This series [Daniel] Vettori wasn't playing but if a left-hander is there, the mix becomes ideal. Gambhir is at the top of the tree and then you have a fair number of right-handers. Then it's useful if you have a left-hander at six if the wicket is turning. But that doesn't guarantee anyone a place in the Test side." Note the highlighted as well
urbestfriend Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 good FC record' date='atleast better than Raina[/quote'] Big joke , Nayyar is no way in same league with Raina. He should be nowhere near Indian team.
maniac Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Might get some smileys for this but Jaddu is technically a better bat than Raina....Might be handy on our pitches with the ball too Things working for Jaddu -Dhoni's pet -Left handed bat -Decent bat with a good FC record with 300 recently -Decent Spin option -Terrific fielder -Chances of him f***** up over a 5 day game are slimmer as he feels more like a choker than someone with lack of talent I say why not
Trichromatic Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 ^ Average of 45 is average in Indian FC class cricket. He might have more success with ball than with bat in tests considering that he can actually turn his darts on turners and make batsman commit mistakes even while defending.
Sidhoni Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Yuvi is much better than Raina if a lefty is needed badly.
Number Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Rather play a right hander with right attitude for Tests than a joke left hander.
Sidhoni Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Even Gambhir is not deserving a place in the Test squad for now. If he is replaced by Rahane and Raina by Rohit, then we will be having an all-righty batting order - From No.1 to No.11(Barring Ojha, who might not play every match)!

He has a better FC Average than Raina and Yuvraj and a FC bowling average close to Ashwin and Ojha at 28.00
Lord Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Gambhir should play in middle order, with Rahane opening
