This is the 2nd worst thread opened today after the "Should Ashwin Open" thread. We have a misfiring batting line-up, our two best batsmen in the NZ series were the 2 novices. We need a proper batsman at 6. Normally i would say, Raina deserves 4-5 tests to prove himself as we need to give new batsmen a chance to bed in. However, he has shown enough in the last 2 years to suggest he is not cut out to be a success at test level, even in SC conditions. One of Rahane or Rohit must come into the side. I have not seen either playing in 1sr class cricket so could not say who should get the nod but i would not discriminate against Rohit on the basis of his ODI form.

Let Darty come and play the domestic season in India and pick wickets before he comes back to the team,if performing against the hapless players of spin(read Englishmen) is the criteria then Jadeja should also be in the team. Seriously Sehwag is very effective against lefties and i dont see why he cant bowl a few overs now and then.

Unfortunately he can also take half an hour to score a duck as well. I'm a huge fan of Raina the ODI player but until he goes back to the Ranji Trophy, scores big and forces his way back into the selectors thoughts, he is not an option in tests.
