Amit Arvind Katarnavre, a lawyer by profession, had approached the Mumbai police complaining against Trivedi. And our system is so honorable, clean & prompt that a normal citizen can make such a case to be heard to in a holiday court, deny bail and then keep him arrested for no particular charge. :facepalm:

There is a reason why the flag can't be burned in most countries. The emblem is another such. Free speech must be protected, but people need to use some common sense in exercising it as well. If you were offended when MF Hussain painted Bharath Matha nude, why aren't you offended when this guy paints one where she is being raped?

His problem wasn't just painting Bharath Matha nude but all variety of hindu goddesses in offensive manner. Did he ever try the same with Muhammad and ilk? He didn't dare. Hence, he gets the label of a bigot. Trivedi is just conveying the disease of corruption - that affects all Indians equally. Trivedi =/= MF Hussain.

Lurker Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Wait what !! Yep. Not funny at all. And chilish too. Frankly but for RK Laxman not too many English cartoonists have been worth their salt. The better cartoons comes from the ethnic media, possibly because humor is very much related to the soil, and your mother tongue. Some of the cartoons by Pawan in Bihari lingo always makes me laugh, for example.
