Asim Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 qL45jUECSKA Quite an old video roughly captured by kids, u might hav already seen but I watched it now. In 2010 when he resigned Test captaincy there were news he opened a photo studio and giving full-time there, I thought it would be some kind of sophisticated system and he might be like some sitting manager but THIS; just one sort of gali mohalla shop which he handling it n dealing public as if he never was any international cricketer. This guy is amazing :hatsoff:
Lurker Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Awesome! Good to see some cricketers still have their feet planted on the ground firmly
Utalk Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 One of the most humble and down to earth cricketer.
vvvslaxman Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 This guy is always grounded. Infact he is not even conscious about being grounded. He just doesn't consider himself as a celebrity. Seen it on several occasions.
Old guy Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 my 2nd fav cricketer from pak team :D always hated him cos he scored soo many damn runs against us :((

veer Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 the only pak player that i respected in past decade.. gentleman.. if he had some command over his english language, he would have gone far.
Lurker Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 So hes grounded because he opened a photo shop ??? Partially yes. This is the kind of store an aam aadmi will open. Quite unlike the modern cricketing superstars who tend to open restaurants, fancy malls and the likes. Look at the way he is even dressed. That itself should tell you how grounded he is. Even a Pragyan Ojha would show up in an Armani suit :winky::winky:

I am not saying that he might not be humble, but the photo shop could be there only because he doesn't have as much money.

That was for the coverage of a charity match and money was going to the charity.

Lurker Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 the only pak player that i respected in past decade.. gentleman.. if he had some command over his english language' date= he would have gone far. Actually if Indian players, and crowds, did not have such pretensions for English language, perhaps Hindi/Urdu itself would have gone far! I see no reason why YK should be an English expert. He is cut from the same clothe as Kapil Dev who had famously said - I was born in Chandigarh, why should I be speaking Queen's English? Why indeed! Had the bulk of Indian crowd not used English proficiency, or lack there of, of YK, Inzzi, Afridi etc etc there may have been another scenario perhaps where Indian, Pakistani and perhaps BD players would have given interviews in Hindi/Urdu. No different than how French or Swiss or German give their interviews. But of course it is easy to prostrate infront of angrezi and take a Mickey out of Pakistanis :cheer:
