yes not when your frontlne bowlers are bowling well. The only way you give confidence to your frontliners by trusting them when they do well. Unfortunately it is not a thing that he does only in SC. He also does everywhere.

Trying Yuvi for an over was a gamble.. had he taken a wicket, everybody would have been praising the masterstroke! How Dhoni hid his secret weapon and not showed his card in warmups! he selected 3 spinners in the XI, so obviously he read the conditions well. Only negative I would say is, he should have tried Raina today.. one less over of pace at the death.

No .. most of us called it even before that over. Yuvraj did not even bowl in warm up. Why try him there that after dropping a catch. Why did he remove Mishra after a maiden wicket. He was in rhythm. You should gamble when things don't go your way. When everything is going your way taking a gamble is foolish regardless of outcome.

Todays Dhoni pro's Got team selection spot on. I was berating him for Field placements were fantastic. Attacked well with slips when needed. Boundary raiders well placed. Tactics were good with Ashwin bowling in the first 6. IMO that stopped Pak from getting off to a flyer. Con I cant understand why Dhoni bowled Yuvraj. The main bowlers were doing fine. Mishra had just taken a wicket and should can attacked more with him. Dhoni IMO wanted to limit the pacers bowling at the end. So he wanted to squeeze some part time overs in. His first person of choice should have been raina. Raina has bowled well in the warm ups and Yuvi had not even had an over for international cricket in how long? Months. Just cause Raina prefers to bowl to LHB and Yuvi is a left armer bowling to right handed batsman, does not mean other factors like form and practise go out the window.

Good team combination. Bowling UV was a big blunder, lucky for us that over didn't turn out to be shift in momentum. It almost did, even Mishra was hit around in the next over. Wickets helped us keep them to a low total. Fielding has taken a big hit since the CT days though, catching especially.

Yuvi is just not in good form. I dont know whats happening with Yuvi. Dropped catches. Misfields. Terrible batting especially against pacers. I thought he turned it around after the sl game. Not to be looks like it.

Yuvi has to click if India has to entertain any thoughts of doing well in this tournament..he is turning out to be Afridi which we cannot afford (play 1 in 30 matches )

yuvraj just needs to go all out, thats why opening with someone like rahane who can properly anchor in t20s and get singles is important. rohit loses his wicket and rahane might do better. so if yuvi gets out scoring boundaries, it might not impact on india's chances too much

Most of our matches are at Mirpur, so only play 2 pacers and Aaron will only play if one of the 2 pacers go for plenty against WI. Can play 3 at Chittagong.

I somehow just dont rate Binny at all. I guess you can open with Rahane and play Rohit at 4.

I think Dhoni wanted Yuvraj to succeed as a bowler in this tournament. Thats why that over. Though should have tried in warm ups. Yuvraj as a bowler does well in these conditions and that would have given Dhoni the option of keeping Ashwin out and play an extra batsman. I think we are one batsman short. somehow need to make space for him. could even look at keeping Bhuvi out. we dont need 2 pacers on these pitches..
