Yes we lost few finals before 2007 Win but only 1 of them was world cup final and others were just triangular series or small tournaments.Also we lost many against Australia which at that time was almost invincible team. Sri Lanka is losing finals in which they were prime or equal contenders and 4 world cup finals must be heart breaking for them.I don't even remember last time when SL won a small tournament final

Sri Lanka have nothing to be ashamed of, make no mistake. For a tiny island nation with a very small pool to choose from, Sri Lanka have overachieved in world cricket, but whether that will be any consolation to Jayawardene is a moot point. His eyes bright with unshed tears as he bravely fronted up to the media, Jayawardene was clearly hurting at being part of a losing side for a fourth consecutive final. Even at that early stage, perhaps, the realisation had sunk in that with Sunday’s defeat had gone his last chance of leading Sri Lanka to a world title; equally, there was in him a sense of having let the fans down, of letting a nation down when everything, it seemed, had been aligned towards propelling Sri Lanka to the title.

Yea, SL screwed up big time in the finals. But so has every team in the tourney. Australia with WI, SA with Pakistan, India with Aus, Eng with India and so on.. I don't see why SL is being singled out here.. yea yea.. it's quite a few finals in SL's case.. but they were different SL team. I hate the SL team attitude especially toward India just like the next Bollywood Indian guy.. but come on.. just because a team is in the finals, doesn't mean they are gonna pull something extra ordinary out their hat with careful advance planning!..They would play like just like any other game.. and just like any other team, their attitude would be to try and win.. and just like every single game.. you win some, you lose some. So big frigging deal it didin't work out to SL!... AFter going thru 2 major excruciatingly embarassing white washes and getting our a s s es handed out to us by Australia.. I don't think we are in a position to mock SL that much.
