bangladeshifan Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Am I the only one who thinks that this Hurricane Sandy is being slighted exaggerated sorry bro but exactly this kind of thinking causes death of hundrads of ppl in india nd bd during any natural disaster. hurricane is one of da worst natural disaster only 2nd to earthquake. not counting tsunami bcs it does hpn often like others
vvvslaxman Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Am I the only one who thinks that this Hurricane Sandy is being slighted exaggerated Never heard of a "toned down" hurricane situation. It is always going to be unpredictable. So only fool will not be prepared for the worst. This one is unseasonal.. unprecedented.
vvvslaxman Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Dont understand this thinking at all. There have been similar comments all over the internet. Isnt it better to err on the side of caution than lose lives because of carelessness? Plus some of the top metereologists are making these claims. Unless you have a better degree than them, whats your source of information? My relative did exactly prove that point. He ignored the alert and said there won't power outage. they are exaggerating.. Now power out. He has no food to eat. He can't go out. Shops are shut down. Under-estimating power of nature is the biggest blunder one can do.
Laaloo Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 The two main thing still yet to come is the two surges. One is due to come in less than 2 hours. And the other on tomorrow morning. I already had my power gone out twice earlier but thankfully they came back in a few minutes. Good thing I have charged eveything: tablets, laptops, phones, ipods :cantstop:
Laaloo Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 I just got a curfew in my town: Jersey City from 6pm till tomorrow 1PM. Can't get out :cantstop:

This power cut is only because of the rain, power lines dont seem to be down yet

vvvslaxman Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 It is downgraded to trpical storm from Hurricane.. FYI Hurricane - 74 mph
Tiger-Don Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 My dad And I are seriously worried about New York! Got too many relatives there to not worry! PRAY ON PRAY ON.....
yoda Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Seems less severe than originally feared, but damage is still there. 9 total dead so far, exchanges to remain closed tomorrow, 3 million without power, 33 foot waves in NY shores, 13 feet of water in Battery Park. Loss estimates between 10 and 20 billion.
EnterTheVoid Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 This thing is not going to hit Manhattan, is it?
