jairamesh Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Regardless of all the issues surrounding captaincy, out-of-form players, non-selections this was unexpected by me. In the worst case scenario I thought we might end up losing 2 to 3 wickets in the 3rd session of Day 3. I can't recall the top order who had an epic fail against spin bowling inside a single session whilst batting in India in the last 4-5 years. This was a very humiliating session. Finally, from Dhoni: I don't even want to see this wicket. There wasn't enough turn and bounce for the spinners. But hopefully, in the coming matches, we'll see the wicket turn right from start, or as soon as possible, so that the toss doesn't become this vital. Thank goodness England didn't win the toss then, or India would lost by an innings and game over in 3 days. We can't rely on the thirst for revenge and motivation from 0-8 drubbing to win this series, there are some serious shortcomings. This season no-one has made a Test debut for India despite the talk of changes.

vvvslaxman Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I didn't watch it. But i don't think it was a 117/7 pitch or 119/5 pitch in the first innings either. We just witness how SA bowling is getting milked around in Australia. OUr batting is so fragile that we don't even do well in home conditions. Carrying bunch of passengers in the batting line up is a huge mistake. England also has few passengers. But the two guys who clicked for them clicked real big. Unfortunately we depend only on the rookiest player in the side or a tailender. Bowlers disappointed me a lot. But batsmen even more.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 2006 vs england was worse, i dont think shaun udal played another test for england
rkt.india Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 2006 vs england was worse' date=' i dont think shaun udal played another test for england[/quote'] Udal was a laddu bowler. I still cannot how they sucked against him.
CG Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 2006 vs england was worse' date=' i dont think shaun udal played another test for england[/quote'] Well England batted first and got a good total and we were chasing on 5th day 300+ and Main batsman were taken by flintoff, anderson, hoggard .Udal just cleaned up the tail. But here on 3rd day this has to one of our worst.
The Outsider Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 2006 vs england was worse' date=' i dont think shaun udal played another test for england[/quote'] Udal got mainly tailenders - top order was taken out by fast bowlers.

Somebody should put this as a definition for "shooting yourself in the foot" in urban dictionary.
Ultimate_Game Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 We do get bundled out cheaply quite often even at home. I remember a match against NZ where we were bowled out for 83 in the 1st session by Dion Nash of all people! Then Chris Martin reduced us to 15/5 quite recently. And who can forget the innings defeat against SA where ADV scored a double and our batsmen collapsed for around 100 or so.
Old guy Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 big deal..with youvraj in for just cos of emotions ,dhoni who is totally useless, tendulkar is done..sehwag is almost done and gsmbhir has been struggling for long time it was expected we will collapse atleast once ihope people wake up and realize sachin does not have 2 more years, yuvraj is not gonna change into test batsman now specislly aftern his illness he ws same before and honestly needs few months to get to even his best dhoni has to go he does not deserves to be in team..cos of his keeping alone forget bstting and captaincy gambhir trismu can tell but he needs to stay away from team srk and play cricket for few mo ths and bhajji i hope he stays not out on 99 ;p also back up players..dinda? ishant after endlznd and australia? we are hopeless and honestly dont mind losing here and sm not angry at all:p but yes its frustrating to watch indian cricket struggle not due to lack of talent cos of few men who got bigger then game and no im not just talking abt sachin..many people just got to big after world cup win..and now we can see them bringing whole team down
Number Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Agree, never saw spinners running through like this. Problem is our batsmen usually go onto front foot against spin to smoother it. Here due to bounce it's taking edges.
Utalk Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 You can still win this if gambo can conjure up another 60/70 with the tail,
R.D forever Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Not a big surprise.. gambhir is in awful form , shewag is a lottery player , kohli does not have the patience to do well in tests and yuvraj is in the team purely due to the sentiment factor. the less said about " you know who " the better
Old guy Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 You can still win this if gambo can conjure up another 60/70 with the tail' date='[/quote'] like tht pak match ? ali and asad really did well:two_thumbs_up:
Utalk Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 like tht pak match ? ali and asad really did well:two_thumbs_up: Yes we got bundled out for 99. Even in the second innings we collapsed and were rescued by Asad and Azhar. Eng were bowled out for 72 by Rehman and Ajmal.

rkt.india Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 :(( Rehman and Ajmal! THis is the kind of pitch and Rehman and Ajmal would have wrecked havoc even in the first innings with those fast darts taking spin. Our spinners could not bowl fast spin. :wall:
