To end this debate once and for all icc aka bcci should make sure pitches are uniform all over the world by laying some 'ground rules'(no pun intended' ) I wonder why they haven't done this yet :hmmm: This is to all the haters who were criticizing us when we were no 1......we were no1 because we were playing good cricket and now we suck bcoz we suck....hope this lays all the conspiracy theories about our ranking to rest.

^ Playing on uniform pitches is just not cricket. The beauty of test cricket is to have variety and home advantage. Plus playing conditions like climate and soil vary, so it can't be done. ICC can tell boards to prepare flat wickets everywhere, but that's no good for the game. I like the way it is.

There is no chemical formula or mathematical rule to making pitches. Even similar soiled pitches might not be similar. They will always be different even if one wants to make uniform pitches. Even pitches of same square will behave differently, example T20 WC 2007, at Durban one pitch wa seaming friendly, low scoring, where matches between India-Pak and India-SA were playd, while India-England and India-Aus pitch was high scoring at the same ground.

:hysterical::hysterical: The pitch looks to be having grass though with a tinge of green.
It should be bare before the test starts or we will be doomed.

Pitch at Mumbai also had grass. Grass alone does not make a pitch bowler friendly but moisture. Grass ensures bounce like it was in Mumbai.

:agree: 3rd test in Trinidad, WI v Aus 1995. Although pitch had lot of grass, it was a slow pitch but still bowling friendly.
