Probably, but I read some rumors that the hospital was planning to take disciplinary action against her for passing on the phone call and information. That's probably enough to send some over the edge if already in distress.

She might have been going through a lot already and this call created new mess in her life and she couldn't handle sum of everything.

Not a fan of the British monarchy at all, but can't bring myself to fault them here. They went to the hospital, which is not a crime. We can hardly hold them responsible for the actions of the RJs or the over reaction of the nurse who felt a disproportionate level of guilt to what she had done. From the youtube link here, the DJ's accent, and I'm not being a judge here, managed to con even the native English nurse.

There is no indication she had, or was going to be disciplined by the hospital. But any member of hospital staff who had fallen for that sort of stunt would have been told not to let it happen again, Indian or not. Terribly sad for the woman's family. Calling a hospital for fun is never OK. Next they will be dialling 999 for laughs.

Its not like they called up the nurse and bullied her with all sorts of insults and innuendos. That would be outrageous of course. They played what they thought was a harmless prank. If they knew that this will all end up in a terrible tragedy, I am sure they wouldnt have done what they did (at least I hope that's the case). Make no mistake, this was a terrible tragedy. The nurse had a beautiful, young family and her kids are without a mom right now, but its not fair to pin the Aussie DJs with blood on their hands.

If I thought it would be fun to scare you suddenly, and you subsequently punched me in the eye as a response, I would not be an innocent victim, I bought it on myself. We all have to take some responsiblity for our actions.
