Ishant had bowled 140 k to 148 k during his first international season. He dropped his pace to 130 to 142 k during his second and third season. He increased his pace again to 140 k to 148 k last season after competion from Umesh and Aaron' date=' his fastest being 152 k in Aus. [b']So, he can bowl around 145 k consistently. We have to remember that he is coming back from an operation.
Where do you guys pull these absurd numbers out from. 145 kmph consistently? Are you serious? Lee's average bowling speed over a test used to be around that mark, to expect Ishant to replicate it is nuts.

No bowler ever could keep an average speed of 90 mph for 20 overs a day.135-140k with good skills is a good pace for any in a test match.

I don't pay all that much attention to speed guns, but from what I remember Lee in Australia '07-'08 could have been up to 145 average. But yeah it's rare even for a genuine quick like Lee to do it and completely unrealistic to expect Ishant to do it, which was the point I was making.

Consistently touching 145 k would be like twice an over in a couple of spells or more in a test match innings or bowling 4 deliveries or so per over in t20 match. I am distinguishing between just one or two 145 k deliveries per innings and bowling quite a few such deliveries consistently. The average speed in tests is in most cases in the 130 s.

Last over to a debutant ! Dhoni's captaincy is going down the drain.

also selection.. he picked 5 wickets in row in first class matches and wasnt selected i think he bowls at good length and can swing ball at goodish pace (atleast edges would carry! :hysterical:) selecting him here in t20 and i hope people dont judge him from this these things happen give him long run and if he consistently fails then drop him this giving 1 match to youngster is destroying indian cricket imo

Awana is much much better than the crap we have tried in the past like aravind, veenie, and even ishant...... Is it fair to criticize him for getting hit for 2 sixers in the very last over of a t20?? Absolutely not.... one of them was an outrageous shot 'dilscoop' and the other was a rank bad ball (length ball that was carted straight back over awana's head). I bet even ashwin could have easily gone for that much in the last over (he actually got hit for 2 sixers in his last over as well) Dinda got lucky in his last over with some mishits as he bowled a few length deliveries as well.... so Awana has done no harm to his reputation in this cameo appearance when we all know that the captain doesn't like seamers in home conditions one bit

he is good bowler..given good conditions he can do well but honestly pankaj singh is better bowler then him and he should be in team but compared to filth we tried before him i dont have problem ..he deserves it he picked wickets and in tests can do well away from home
