Laaloo Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Gambhir Mukund Pujara Rahane Sehwag Kohli Dhoni ( would like to give him a couple of series with a young team) The two left handers at the top would be a problem. Any good right handed opener in the domestic that we can put in place of Gambhir?
Number Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 We don't have good back up openers only Rahane can be tried. Rohit Sharma should play in the middle order.

amiret Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Sehwag does not deserve a place in the side anymore. He is averaging less than 27 against SA, Aus & Eng in the last 2 years (15 Test matches) . just 1 100 against them in this time period

He is averaging less than 27 against SA, Aus & Eng in the last 2 years (15 Test matches) . just 1 100 against them in this time period I still would like to give him a couple of series like Dhoni in the middle order. If he fails, then drop him.
Eternal Atma Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Too much shuffling. No SRT. Also where is Tiwary and Rohit Sharma. They both are more suited to first class cricket.
The Dark Horse Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 My dream team (coz it's not happening) 1. Rahane 2. Mukund 3. Pujara 4. Kohli 5. Sehwag 6. Dinesh Karthik 7. Ashwin 8. Bowler 9. Bowler 10. Bowler 11. Bowler
Pagalpanti Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 I think the team has fallen into a rut and things need to be shaken up massively for anything to change. We thought fresh players like Pujara and Kohli would bring a change but the team is still performing bad if not worse (now even at home). Captaincy change is the 1st thing on cards after this series defeat. A young captain should be appointed. Sehwag/Gambhir 30+ no centuries from last 3 years shouldn't be given captaincy.
someone Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 A young captain should be appointed. Sehwag/Gambhir 30+ no centuries from last 3 years shouldn't be given captaincy. Not as simple. A young and unproven captain can make things even worse. And let's be honest, there is no young player in India who has guaranteed his spot for Indian Test cricket. You are not going to give a unproven player captaincy just because he is younger.

GautiMaan Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 If Kohli had done well in this series he might have been a good choice, but now he's struggling, will it be fair to put the burden of captaincy on him?
rkt.india Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 two right handed openers Jeewanjot and Akshat Reddy are doing well.
Pagalpanti Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Kohli hasn't struggled. He's got out to poor shots. Players get into these kind of form once in a while. He has been our best test bat since Australia tour. And if we have SA tour in mind. Surely none of Sehwag/Gambhir are reliable. And Zaheer has lost his place, surely a player who cant keep his place cant have a command over the team.
someone Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 What can be worse ? Pls tell. Because their is uncertainty. You do realize that changing a captain itself does not necessary men better results?
CG Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Any team which has dhoni has captain will likely be bad and with mukund opening its worse
Old guy Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 why do u guys still want sehwag in team ? he wont even survive in middle order opening is easier on these pitches ball swings more when its old with reverse
indiefan Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 The fans keep dreaming and the lineup goes to the other extreme with people like Chawla making it to the eleven :whack:
Sidhoni Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Though many people are saying Sehwag should move down the order, I somehow just can't agree with him batting at six. I don't think we have many right handed opening options, Rahane seems the best bet to replace Gambhir.
