jairamesh Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 :giggle: Forget the average, it's the total runs Ashwin has scored which is embarrassing for Indian batsmen. So far Ashwin has outdone 7 top order batsmen in the series (min 6 innings).
vvvslaxman Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Ashwin has a long way to go. But he gives us an option to play 5 bowlers. I don't think even Irfan was this consistent with bat.

They have nothing to contribute to Indian cricket as players anymore. I am sure it is a tall order for ZK to even stand still on the 5th day of a Test match let alone perform in it. Thankfully there is IPL for these two granddaddys'.
rkt.india Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Ashwin has time and again shown that what a good bat he is. First an important 100 against WI in debut series then some good innings in Australia, and now in this series as well.
rkt.india Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Only issue I have with him is his rounded body. If I was India's coach I would send him on weight loss spree. He can easily bat at #6 for us. At least we can try and see how he does at 6 because even at 8, he bats like a batsman and not like a tailender.
