rkt.india Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 I am talking about dhoni.:--D I want Ashwin to bat at 6. Rahane to replace SRT and bat at 5, Kohli at 4.
Raghav_12 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 He is trying to be Daniel Vettori of India or Ravi Shastri of this generation. But for either of these he needs to take some wickets definitely.
punjabi_khota Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 His batting should strictly be a bonus. He should be dropped and told to improve his bowling. Obviously, we have to make sure he is not too far from selection if he does well.
vayuu1 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 He need to work on his fitness his bowling and fielding, the love handle brigade is destroying Indian cricket
vayuu1 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 He and sehwag looks more like lala ji than cricketer
Desi Cartman Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 oh yeah he will be dropped and darty will be back well Bhajji must be laughing out loud at the moment :((
Tiger80 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Yes' date=' one bad series is no reason to throw an upcoming youngster out. Somehow we always give a bigger rope to batsmen than bowlers. Look at how many chances UV or Raina got. Yet one bad series and throw a young bowler out?[/quote'] There are 6-7 Batsmen but there is only 1-2 frontline spinners .Frontline spinners in India need to perform or India will loose. BTW when was last time when ICF's most mocked indian spinner (Bhajji) performed so badly in India in tests. He averaged 33 and SR 74 against Australia when he was criticised for not performing well but still his performence was much better than Ashwin against England
King Tendulkar Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Things are bad, even some haters are pining for bhaji
Rohit S. Ambani Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Cricketer = Fielder + Bowler + Batsmen + Leader Qualities + Team Man Is Ashwin a good Cricketer, deserves to play for International side? Ashwin the fielder = Lethargic (5/20) Ashwin the bowler = Mediocre (10/20) Ashwin the batsmen = Decent (15/20) Ashwin the leader = Manmohan Singh (5/20) Ashwin the team-man = Pieterson, has that self legend image ego, man is not willing to sacrifice his love-handle's for his nation. (10/20) Total = 45/100
Clarke Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Trouble is, our batting has gone to the dogs. It might boil down to playing the usual 6 FT batsmen + WK + 4 bowlers. That's assuming we have batsmen better than Ashwin, coz some of the current lot don't seem to be doing much better.
King Tendulkar Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Fatwin strikes to become a leading wicket taker this innings.
R.D forever Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 better make him an ODI and t20 specialist.. but got to feel for the guy.. In 2 days time he has to play T20 and try different things. Then ODIs and again try to get into the test mode.. Guess this is the reason why kohli and ashwin struggle in tests.
King Tendulkar Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Cameraman repeatedly zooming towards dhoni when commentators were taking about series batting performances and failures But Not a single word from suckers shastri, manu,l.s :hysterical::hysterical: Sums up the corruption we have in even the media
div Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Ashwin seems to have that extra time to play his shots
amiret Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 R.Ashwin, has a batting average of nearly 44.00 since his debut when most of the batting around him has been flopping. This is before the current test. His 29* might push it a little further too. Now his bowling average looks like it will catch up with his batting average very soon if he continues the same way,but do you think his batting has been good enough to earn him an extended run? yes. He can be an all-rounder in Tests. Shastri started off as a left arm spinner and a number 10 batsman. Ashwin's primary focus needs to be his bowling .
Sachin=GOD Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 No. He is first and foremost a bowler and the batting is just a bonus. On current bowling form he does not deserve a place in the team.
rkt.india Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 No. He is first and foremost a bowler and the batting is just a bonus. On current bowling form he does not deserve a place in the team. he can become a batting alrounder and can easily play as a batsman in this team at 6 will still give us a bowling option and we can play 5 bowlers.
Sooda Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 ^ Yes that is a way forward. He can bowl in short quick attacking bursts, probably more suited to his style of bowling. If we play Ishant, Yadav and Zaheer it would mean Zaheer can bowl a bit less in terms of number of overs a day and hence stay fresher.
