Indian cricket in 2012 : All tunnel, no light

End of a miserable year Well the downfall started in 2011 itself from Eng series but this year especially has been a poor year. After 8 years we lost a test series at home, got knocked out of 2 tournaments + Lost an ODI game to Bangladesh. Only high was the 4-1 in Sri Lanka. Future looks bleak as well, we've got absolutely no bowlers who can be match winners and now batsman failing more often than not. :(( Tough times ahead

Biggest problem is we've got a board that doesn't care how the team is going provided they are making money in IPL ... To be honest, from a marketing point of view, the IPL is pure genius ... They've figured out a cricket tournament that can guarantee India will never lose!

Arey, India was about to become No.1 in ODIs and you thought it was a miserable year. :giggle: Mark my words, 2013 will be worse In 2012, we at least won one Test series and an ODI series. In 2013, ... In 2012, we at least won more ODIs than we lost. In 2013, ... In 2012, we at least won three Test matches. In 2013 ... You ain't seen nuttin yet. :om:

I will remember this year for KOHLI @ HOBART AND KOHLI @ BANGLADESH AGAINST PAKISTAN. Two of the best knocks in the year were scored by Indian.

Ind can only blame itself for its performance in 2012. Some of it was due to a lack of planning, old players sticking around for too long, selectors recycling the same old players, waiting to drop a player till he fails in like 25 games, not working on trying to work on the youngsters, traditional strategy of relying on batting (rather than working on being double dangerous, i.e. both with the bat and ball) If we had recources like B'desh, i wouldn't mind. But whenthe richesh cricket body acts like a novice in planning, the bad cycles will usually be longer, while the good cycles will be relatively shorter

Regional bias lead to our poor performance, if we get decent selectors we will rule the next year. trust me if i was a selector we will never lose a match

Indian ODI stat for 2012. Guys like Irfan Pathan/Ashwin ahve better average than Rohit, Jaddu, Viru. Infact They have better strike rate than Rohit and Jaddu.
