SLICKR392 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Look the following statement is not to promote or attack Kohli or any other player. YOU CANNOT JUDGE HOW A PLAYER WILL BE AS A CAPTAIN BY IPL PERFORMACES!!! Bloody IPL, people seriously judging who should be indian cpatain by god dammn IPL!! :nice:
vvvslaxman Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Rohit Sharma looked composed and cool. Kohli is a cry baby and attacks his bowlers when things don't go his way... Place in the Indian team itself is a gift to the rat' date= let alone captaincy Good... let him stay cool in the shades with single digit scores :cantstop: He is a tiger in IPL. When he wears Indian colors he is a cat. Last line is applicable more appropriate to Rohit than anyone else. he is worse than tailenders in the last 2 years.

Any sane person who watched the cricket that was played in IPL instead of those extras and cheerleaders would agree that Rohit looked a better leader. And yes, the second statement was a little overboard but that day may not be far if this guy continues to be such an assho*e

Seriously it must be joke of the century. This is exactly how Bhajji, Gauti were hyped. CL win, IPL win. We have to take these low quality club league performances with a pinch of salt.
Sandeep99 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 SO how do you judge the leadership skills of these players? They don't even captain their Ranji sides! The point I'm trying to make is, Rohit never looked let down when his team was losing and never went hyper when his bowlers were going for few like Kohli

When your bowlers keep gifting 20 run over anyone will lose it least of Kohli who is generally hyper-active. He did won under-19 world cup. Keep that in mind. I don't say Kohli is a great captain. But we just have to look at IPL captaincy with a bit of perspective. Won't give much of an idea. Otherwise Dhoni would be captain for INdia forever as he led his side 5 out of 6 seasons to final. Rohit's priority should be to keep his place not dream about captaincy. He gets so much backing yet he is not capitalizing on it. Tell me exactly why Rohit sharma was picked for championship trophy. No list A performances this sseason, Pathetic ODI performances. He is far too lucky compared to some of the youngsters like Pujara.

Failed against Pakistan miserably, didn't play a single List A game. It is pretty obvious the selectors are looking at IPL performances as a parameter. If only domestic performances are to go by, Pujara should be the first one to get selected into CT squad. Also, don't mix 'performance' with 'captaincy'. Ganguly was regarded as a good captain despite his failures with the bat.And Rohit gets selected frequently into the side because of the enormous 'potential' he has. Rohit has never dreamed about captaincy, it is we who are subjectively analysing who looked better. And answer is there for us to see

Rohit has never dreamed about captaincy, it is we who are subjectively analysing who looked better. And answer is there for us to see Basically you are supporting what BCCI did there. That is where we disagree. Pujara should have been selected instead of Rohit sharma. What kohli has done? He was the highest run getter for India 3 years in a row. He is currently ranked world no.2 in ODIs. You don't get there without semblance of consistency. He selects himself. You are comparing a player who has odd failures with a player who has odd success. Secondly regarding the captaincy i already told it hardly gives any evidence how he would do at the international level as they dynamics are completely different. Even Dravid was very vocal and expressive unlike internationals. Will that make him a bad captain? Infact in Ranji Trophy match he was absolutey pissed off at an umpire decision when he was in the balcony. So that makes Rohit a better captain than Dravid because he is "cool and calm"?
Sandeep99 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 I was telling you why Rohit was selected because you were complaining about it! I also said Pujara should have been in the squad. Isn't it clear from my post above? Look, you just loathe Rohit Sharma, I understand that from your posts. I for one believe that Rohit will be the go to guy for India in overseas test matches, which count above everything. That is my personal opinion. Kohli will not make an impact there.
jalebi_bhai Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 RoHIT shaRma should be new BCCI president.. +1000000000
someone Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 RR is a much better and much more balanced team than RCB. :giggle: Is that a joke? RR is no ways a better team than RCB. Dravid made the team better. The captain thereby plays a critical role. A captain is as good as the the team. Very simplistic. If everyone started thinking like that, then there will be no competition. And more importantly, the captain doesn't know how good or bad his team is. It's his work to make the team perform better. That's the key word, capable of making the team play better. Reading your posts on this thread, I can think of this Don't argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. So I do not really want to argue with you again.

Rohit has to secure his place first in the Indian team.
