Magneto Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 AVKC has a 100 per cent record till now: Won its only T20 (from the jaws of defeat) Won its only ODI series Won its only Test :two_thumbs_up:
Magneto Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Kohli has always been a good ODI batsman. His ODI averages outside the subcontinent are as follows Australia. 53 England. 39 South Africa. 58 West Indies. 40 Zimbabwe. 42 NZ Never played Not exactly a FTB I would say, given that these are ODI averages. He had a mental block in the first 6 tests that he played and failed. Similar things have happened with other good cricketers. In the Perth test, on a fast and bouncy track, against a decent attack, he scored 44 and 75. He made 116 in the next test in Adelaide. Kohli has an average of 58.8 with 4 centuries in the 9 tests he has played from his turnaround Perth test. Quite ok I would think. He can play swing and spin and is quite decent against the bouncing ball. His pull and hook has improved significantly. All these qualities point to the fact that he has the necessary tools to succeed in tests all over the world in the future. A few failures on the trot, in India, prior to his century against England in the last test, was a bad patch which every good batsman have and is quite normal unless some glaring technique related weakness have come to the fore. That is not the case with Kohli. Kohli obviously has a long way to go, especially in tests. He has to succeed consistently in outside-subcontinent tests. He sometimes plays too slowly in tests which is not his natural game, gets pressurized and then dismissed. He will have to work on that but, overall, I would say there are many more positives than negatives to his game and performances. His average in Aus against Aus is 15. That average of 53 has come by bashing Sri Lankan trundlers. Both West Indies and Zim had ordinary bowlers where Rohit the tailunt actually reigned supreme. The England series average is average. Out of his 13 ODI centuries, 11 have come in the subcontinent.
SLICKR392 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 11 in the SC and almost half against Loins. :giggle:

Considering Kohli is the only Indian apart from Sachin to score an ODI century in England thats an excelllent record.
JaFanatic Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 should update the club's achievement in the OP :two_thumbs_up:
