Sachinism Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Best ODI player we have, got no issues with him leading the ODI side
Lord Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Best ODI player we have' date=' got no issues with him leading the ODI side[/quote'] best player need not be great captain, cue the man in ur av
Texy Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 He's fine for ODIs but not T20s and Test teams. Test cricket needs major change. Make Ashwin or Gambhir Test captain, keep Dhobi for ODIs and make Kohli T20 captain.
Ultimate_Game Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 For odis Dhoni's still the best bet along with best batsman to boot.
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 He's fine for ODIs but not T20s and Test teams. Test cricket needs major change. Make Ashwin or Gambhir Test captain' date= keep Dhobi for ODIs and make Kohli T20 captain. :haha:
CG Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Best ODI player we have' date=' got no issues with him leading the ODI side[/quote'] :cantstop: :cheer: Its great watching gangBang of indian cricket by other teams.Yeah best batsman who comes at no 7 and sends guys who are out of form or youngsters when pitches have juice and on flat pitches bats ahead of them.Really Indian cricket is nothing but a big joke and supporters are even more foolish.:giggle: Regarding australia We will lose anyway ,No matter who leads us it may just end dhoni captaincy .
Tiger-Don Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Odis, sure... But in tests, No. In t20s captains dont matter.

Vikas Bhatt Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 TBH, I actually think that WC win in 2011 is now looking more like a curse. It spoiled our players, brought them excess glory than they could handle, brought excess money that took their focus from their games and fitness and now look where we fell? We have not won a single series of note since then, neither overseas nor at home. I don't know what we will have next WC. Shitwag doesn't look fit enough to last. Even then he, Ghati, Raina, Yuvraj and Sharma are FTBs. Zaheer and Bhajji are also finished. Dhobi looks like he won't cover the distance either unless he prioritizes and quits one or more formats of the game. Our trundling medium pacers make a debut, play full steam a year or half and then after one full IPL become train wrecks that end up in scrap yards. ATM we neither have very good batsmen and nor have any idea what kind of pace and spin bowlers we will have. In 2011, it looked that except SRT, a majority of the players would be fit and up enough to be in the next edition. Ghati, Yuvraj, Shitwag, Dhobi, Raina, Kohli, Bhajji, Zaheer, Ishant etc all looked like they would survive as a core team. How far they have fallen as players and as a team since then.
CG Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 This is not KKR team. :winky: Yeah Its the CSK Team I am afraid.:giggle:

When Dhoni comes in at 7 (29/5) - "He didn't come in early coz there was juice in the pitch" When Dhoni comes in earlier - "He cashed in on flat wkt to keep his average up" When Dhoni scores an unbeaten 100 or by remaining unbeaten in a chase - "He kept his average high by remaining unbeaten" When Dhoni gets out early (50 or below) - "He's a cr@ppy batsman and shouldn't be in the team". Don't understand what can Dhoni do despite averaging 52 in odis and inspite of being the only consistent batsman we have in odis :dontknow: Maybe you would prefer likes of Mongia/Ratra/Vijay Dahiya over Dhoni who used to average 20 with the bat.

So who do you want to lead India? Gambhir? Sehwag? The only player who's good enough to lead is Kohli but he's a bit green and is still finding feet in Test cricket. I would have Dhoni lead till 2015 WC and hand over the reigns to Kohli. If you hand over reigns to Kohli now he will have to deal with dropping of folks like Sehwag, Gambhir etc. leading to more pressure on him. Let Dhoni handle that and let Kohli have reigns of a fresh team post 2015 WC.

Forget test matches and ODI's for a moment Lets take T20's into account-Dhoni is not the same player in T20's like he is in ODI's with the stigma of being kicked out in the opening rounds of 3 world tournaments. Why can't we start of with a new captain in T20 format and work our way upto the ODI by 2014...that's a long enough rope no? TINA factor for Dhoni is brought up by Dhoni bandwagon in ODI's bcoz he has been an absolute gem in that format but he will find his spot in jeopardy both as a captain and a player if he is appraised for the other 2 formats.

Oops tendulkar is selfish when he plays but dhoni plays for team .:hysterical: Really did you watch him bat in the 2nd odi .
Ultimate_Game Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Oops tendulkar is selfish when he plays but dhoni plays for team .:hysterical: Coz Dhoni actually scores runs :dontknow:
