What a lot of people are missing is that if it doesnt rain, then they we'll make up at least 40 overs of lost 90 overs... and, in that case, there is a possibility of a result..

I think if they call stumps at 5:00 and extend the play by 30 minutes daily instead of 4:30 and start at 9:00 then there is possibility of making up all the overs plus if the run rate is as same as today then we will have more overs.

Sporting declaration in the first innings.
Why would India do that considering Aussies are playing catch-up and India has to bat last on the pitch :dontknow: If anything Aussies have to do all the hard running and maybe set an enticing target for Indians to go for in the 4th innings in the hope India may falter in the chase.

You can expect Clarke to do just that, if there is a chance. He is that kind of a captain and the series is at stake for them.

Good for us and it will play in our favor. With all due respect to Clarke, I haven't been impressed by Clarke's captaincy. It's one thing to captain when things are in your favor and totally different when they aren't. So far Clarke has failed on more counts than one - allowing Dhoni to put on big runs with tail in the 1st Test, giving just 6 overs to Pattinson in the 1st Test when he looked like running through our top order, not promoting himself up the order in the last 2 Tests, dropping Lyon and playing Maxwell, sacking 4 players for not doing their homework and persisting with a walking wkt in Hughes. Yup, Clarkey is a great captain alright :two_thumbs_up: Or maybe it's just that Clarke is not Dhoni so he's better :winky:

Pitch is a 4-day wicket. IF India declare sportingly (i.e. if we are able to match Australia's score), Clarke might take the bait. That said, it may not necessarily be the best move for Clarke but that at least gives Australia some chance of winning the Test match.

Same score which the Aussies make.

Why shouldn't India pile on as many runs in the 1st innings and try to bat just once? I am sorry but declaring on the same score as Aussies given that we are 2-0 up makes no sense whatsoever.

Take the new ball first thing tomorrow morning, polish off the tail for under 40-50 more runs..India bat 5 sessions, take a lead of about 150-175..Aus bat through last day for a draw
