Magneto Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 People who cannot read or write their own language (despite being in the same state) needs to be biatch-slapped. :whack:
The Dark Horse Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 yea almost all the all the mallus i've met can speak or listen to tamil comfortably:agree: That's because most mallus watch Tamil films and not vice versa. Though there are a few who watch(My mom loves malayalam movies more than Tamil ones.)
anotherhawkeye Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I love mallu girls more than tamil girls, though me is a paccha tamilan. On topic, can do all three (rwc) in tamil fluently.
EnterTheVoid Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I had the option of choosing between Hindi, Arabic and/or Sanskrit in primary school (did my primary schooling in the middle east). Learn't Hindi, promptly forgot Hindi. With respect to my mother tongue, proficiency is so and so.
Debutant Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 ^^^ Is it possible to forget a language after learning it, that too after learning to write ?? Its like swimming or learning cycle, it stays with you for ever. You must be doing something else in your classes for sure :acute::acute:

Mariyam Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Parents taught you Urdu ? Do you know Arabic as well ? For a few years in school, and then a private tutor. It was something that my paternal grandfather insisted as his uncle was a relatively reknowned playwright in Urdu and Pashto. Unfortunately, these days, my reading of the language is limited to newspapers or re-reading old poetry that I have read. Haven't read any book in Urdu in ages. I don't know Arabic. I can only read but do not follow anything. Just a few basic words, mostly religious.
