yea almost all the all the mallus i've met can speak or listen to tamil comfortably:agree:
That's because most mallus watch Tamil films and not vice versa. Though there are a few who watch(My mom loves malayalam movies more than Tamil ones.)

I had the option of choosing between Hindi, Arabic and/or Sanskrit in primary school (did my primary schooling in the middle east). Learn't Hindi, promptly forgot Hindi. With respect to my mother tongue, proficiency is so and so.

^^^ Is it possible to forget a language after learning it, that too after learning to write ?? Its like swimming or learning cycle, it stays with you for ever. You must be doing something else in your classes for sure :acute::acute:

Parents taught you Urdu ? Do you know Arabic as well ?
For a few years in school, and then a private tutor. It was something that my paternal grandfather insisted as his uncle was a relatively reknowned playwright in Urdu and Pashto. Unfortunately, these days, my reading of the language is limited to newspapers or re-reading old poetry that I have read. Haven't read any book in Urdu in ages. I don't know Arabic. I can only read but do not follow anything. Just a few basic words, mostly religious.

You are defective/retarded bro! Doesn't happen to normal people. Or may be you are crash-landing your base-jumps lately....like the memory-loss stories they tell in movies.
