We are talking about balanced and not the better side....English conditions suited SA....Man-to-Man S.A is ahead but in terms of resources in all departments England seems to have the edge

Pace bowing - SA ahead. Spin bowling - England ahead. Batting against pace - SA ahead. Batting against spin - SA ahead. So it's 3-1. Although I admit they depend a lot on Amla and Steyn.

That's pretty good for an opener, he has been our first choice opener for a couple of years now.

SA easily is more balanced. Their pacers can be better than any decent spinner is spin-friendly conditions. :dontknow:

newzealand is the most settled balanced team at the moment. If I were bangladesh, i'd schedule a 7 test series with nz right about now.

Pakistan are a very settled side. Openers have not missed a game since OCT 2010. Azhar YK Misbah and Shafiq are settled and only YK missed couple of test due to family bereavement. Gul has played every game. Ajmal missed one test. Rehman has played every game.

Well I am not sure you can call south Africa completely settled until their wicketkeeping issue is solid. I did not expect de villiers to still have the gloves now, and I think their selectors were all set to pick tsolikile until very recently. I would look to free de villiers from that responsibility personally.

Being settled is not good thing always for a team. India cricket team continued to remain settled long after they should have stopped being so because of continous losses. This "settled" thing caused real damage for team. They still have a settled captain who wants to remain settled for few more years.
