don_corleone840 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Hats off to Dhoni. The man is a one man army as of now. Without him India would be routinely 150 a.o. At the moment he is playing a role even tougher that what Sachin used to play in 90s. Sachin had the advantage of 1st 15 overs, deciding his tempo on his own, had able guys like Ganguly to help him but Dhoni is doing so well in conditions much tougher and usually on his own. To all those who say Dhoni is selfish, well, Dhoni could get a lot more runs if he were to come up. He knows it too but prefers to bat low cos India need someone to stay in the end. He is giving so much chance to others to bat higher yet Dhoni is called selfish. Most Ind fans put so much pressure on the bright ones that they burn for a while and then go out. We want Sachin to do all sort of things and when he fails we blame him. Dhoni has won 2 WCs, taken Ind to ODI and Test #1 - How many captians have done tha but we want him to do even more. We want an all conquering Ind team and blame Dhoni when team fails.
Sidhoni Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 He is currently the best ODI batsman in the world by far. Maybe the best Indian ODI batsman ever.
Marut Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Dhoni is actually a mixed bag. He took India to great heights and also to its worst depths - all within the space of 3 years. Asking for his head when India is sinking every day is not wrong, his past laurels don't give him an unlimited rope. We don't want an all conquering team. We want a team that can put up a fight. Not a team that gets white washed in an ignominable manner repeatedly. We don't want him to do more and more, he can just step out gracefully as his captaincy stocks are depleted right now.
SLICKR392 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 He is currently the best ODI batsman in the world by far. Maybe the best Indian ODI batsman ever. Easily.
Sachin=GOD Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 He is currently the best ODI batsman in the world by far. Maybe the best Indian ODI batsman ever.
Sidhoni Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Easily. This is the reason i wrote "maybe" :haha: -

Number Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Can't compare a no. 6 and an opener but definitely one of the best we have ever had and should take a bit more responsibility.
CG Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Dhoni Best odi batsman? Amla who has been opening and is in terrific form and is 100 rating points above dhoni is the Best.Dhoni is the best finisher currently. But as a batsman amla and abdv are ahead.
JaFanatic Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 He is currently the best ODI batsman in the world by far. Maybe the best Indian ODI batsman ever. sachin ganguly and dravid are ahead:headshake:
SLICKR392 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Rather put it this way. The greatest match winner.
Old guy Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 i think he will surpass dravid and ganguly .. but sachin is the greatest..no question about it
diga Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Can't compare a no. 6 and an opener but definitely one of the best we have ever had and should take a bit more responsibility. what more responsibility than captaincy & Wicket keeping? But I do agree, if he can replicate some batting form in test matches too & captaincy by winning matches consistently again
BeautifulGame Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 sachin ganguly and dravid are ahead:headshake: Dhoni is definitely a better batsman either Dravid or Ganguly IMO Sachin is a level above though
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I agree Dhoni is the best finisher in the game and in the top 3 ODI batsman, but hes not more valuable than Amla for example who would have got a 100+ at his best unlike Gambhir who at his best these days barely gets 50's.
CG Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Dhoni is definitely a better batsman either Dravid or Ganguly IMO What?:hysterical::hysterical:
vvvslaxman Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 i think he will surpass dravid and ganguly .. but sachin is the greatest..no question about it +1 Finishing role is much tougher in ODIs. Against older balls hitting is much harder in ODIs. Dhoni will only get better now with 2 new balls and only 4 fielders outside.

Old guy Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 i mean look at south africa tour this guy was agressive and really played well in that series
vamos_rafa Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 i mean look at south africa tour this guy was agressive and really played well in that series You are talking about the test series?
