Local congress leaders and their mobs went on the roads of delhi, pulling Sardars who hid under bus seats and set them on fire after dousing them with petrol. Thousands were killed on one single bloody day alone. He should have owned up and offered a heartfelt apology, would have put Modi on the spot and the vote fallout wouldn't have been huge because all Sikhs already blame Congress for 1984
