Dhoni on his own only has so much power - indeed, if he didn't have so much influential backing he would have been sacked long back. Apart from Bangladesh, which country would retain a captain who gets battered in eight consecutive Tests and then even loses a home series, not to mention being a pretty average Test player himself? Of course, some individuals would have the shame to resign after humiliating the country like that but Dhoni isn't one of them - can't be losing those million dollar endorsement deals.
