Dumbbells Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Come on guys, be honest. How many runs our batsmen would have scored against this South African bowling attack? I would say 250+...
Ultimate_Game Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Last time we played SA we squared the series and were in the driver's seat to win the decider...
Cricket Tragic Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Probably less than 49 tbh. Don't forget that they had Lara and Gavaskar and still made only 49.
ganeshran Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 We would have scored 250+ but given away 500 in the first innings.
Cricketics Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Pujara didn't really do too good in 2010 in terms of scores, but he did show great batting style in 2010 tour and managed to stick aorund and fought along with Sachin against Steyn/Morkel/Tsotsobe for a long and scored more than what some of the pakistnai batsmans did. I am sure him, tendulkar and Kohli in the middle order would have atleast added 120+ among themselves. Rest of the team I say may have added 100+ runs between them. So Around 220ish

I hope this Kohli guy realizes his role in the test side and bat responsibly! And someone needs to play the Laxman role, who can up the scoring rate in difficult situations! Rohit is the obvious replacement, but he gifts away the wicket to not so deserving balls..that's the problem! I have no hope for Rahane in Saffa land, though I back him to open there alongside Gambhir/Sehwag... Pujara will do well there! And Paaji is always there
Spiderguy252 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 200 maybe. Not much more with the current lot. If Sehwag opens it'll be 4/1 or 8/1. Gambhir scored in 2010 but won't do anything much you would think.
vandokkum Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 No team would have scored over 200 on this pitch against a rampaging Steyn with Philander and Kallis bowling the way they did. India's batting has been shambolic in Eng/ Aus and SA have a far better pace attack currently.
Laaloo Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 The fact is that most balls bowled by Steyn were too good for tailenders and since our team are nothing short of tail enders we would have weathered the storm and scratched our total up to 150 only then for our tail ender bowlers to concede 500+ next innings.
Desi Cartman Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 How hot flamy would have been had he been born a girl ?
Pagalpanti Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 180-240ish but whats important is we wouldn't have bowled out SA for 250 for that matter anything less than 400

Laaloo is right.
NareshK Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 180-240ish but whats important is we wouldn't have bowled out SA for 250 for that matter anything less than 400 SA got out to poor shots and gave wickets away against Hafeez. Pak bowlers were mediocre in this game too. In our last test series, Zaheer, Sree, Ishant bowled superbly. undefined

Marut Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 We would have made about 200 after sinking to 80 for 6. And we would have gifted away 350-500 in the first innings. This is the typical way India play in SA, except for the exceptional 2010 tour. I think Pakistan did not apply themselves. It was not the sort of 50 all out wicket even with the bowling of Steyn and co. Pakistan could have definitely scored 150 with more application.
vandokkum Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Ishant sharma is one of the worst test bowlers I have seen in helpful conditions.
Lord Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 sub 200 surely and our legendary bowlers wiuld have made this look like an absolute road, later calling themselves unlucky
