Since he did not see himself playing the 2015 World Cup, it was appropriate to quit the 50-over format in the best interest of the Indian team, batting great Sachin Tendulkar has said. The senior batsman said it was best to allow team find a winning combination ahead of the tournament, to be held in Australia and New Zealand. The 39-year-old batsman said it was right to walk into the sunset, keeping in mind IndiaÃÔ title defence. Ū felt in 2015 when we go to Australia and New Zealand we should be fully prepared to lift the trophy again. I donÃÕ see myself playing in the 2015 World Cup and thatÃÔ why I felt I should back off and the team should move ahead and form a balance, formidable combination for the 2015 World Cup, Tendulkar told NDTV. One of the gameÃÔ all-time greats, Tendulkar, announced his retirement from one-day cricket in December last year, bringing to an end a glorious 23-year-old career in the One-day format during which he rewrote numerous batting records.

least SRT stay off the radar from media better of him IMO, if he really wants to play few more for India. Indian test side cant afford any non-performing player atm, its just some respect of his past record and his personal goodwill helping him stay listed in the squad. As Dhoni said, its transition period goin on, very soon Sachin's number will come.

All of us wanted him to retire. He did. So whats the improvement? We lost to a piss poor Pakistan team at home with most batsmen failing big time. AMrk my words, when he goes from the test scene too, replacement of Jadeja/ R.Sharma etc. would make you people so so depressed...........

We won against England you forgot that. We have won series without him too even when he was not retired and was rested.

You are making it look so simple, when it is not. What I meant was when he left, his form in ODIs were way better than many of our current lot. He scored a 50 in his last ODI.

He was in as bad a form as others against England in tests which transformed later in ODIs against Pak too.
