Sandeep99 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Kumble's 10 wicket haul- One of the most memorable spells of spin bowling!

diga Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Kumble's 10 wicket haul- One of the most memorable spells of spin bowling! How much did it spin ??
Sandeep99 Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 How much did it spin ?? so much that the poor Pakistanis had no clue!:haha:
SLICKR392 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 When Kumble took 9 wickets didn't Srinath ask the WK not to take his catch after he dropped it?
Ultimate_Game Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Those wkts don't count. Umpires and match were fixed.
saneindian Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 What an achievement. Jumbo was unstoppable and Pakistan looked clueless. IIRC, a couple of close LBW shouts vs Anwar and Afridi were not given early in that chase, and they had built a good partnership. But the moment one got out, rest of them fell like pack of cards. The batting of Ramesh in that low scoring match was another highlight which is hardly remembered.
SLICKR392 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Old but a good read regarding Jumbo's 10. http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/389554.html

Asim Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Yeah me too remember, umpire had his finger ready with 'out' signal at his back throughout the inng, bowler was required to hit anything other than middle of bat and there u go, appeal was just a formality or an optional exercise for bowler that day…
game_changerr Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 After that match I had high hopes for Ramesh. Too bad he failed to live up to his potential. the kind of footwork he had,he was lucky to play so many internationals.....(he lacked hand-eye cordination too ala sehwag)

Afretard was the only not out player. Ijaz was out lbw, Inzi was bowled, Md Yusuf was plumb, Moin was caught off the glove, Anwar caught off the glove, Malik bowled, Mushtaq Ahmed was caught off the glove, Saqlain was plumb and Akram had a thick edge

jusarrived Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 asm, Except for Afridi one ( which is not conclusive ) . Show me one of that dismissal which wasnt out . Classless as usual .
Asim Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 ^ ^^ ^^^ ^^^^ ^^^^^ I take my words back... What a performance by Kumble... btw All of them came so naturally including last 1,2
Ultimate_Game Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 ^ ^^ ^^^ ^^^^ ^^^^^ I take my words back... What a performance by Kumble... btw All of them came so naturally including last 1,2 Coz it was all fixed. Everyone was on it, including the Pak team which decided to gift wkts to Kumble in exchange for no Indian cricketer to sledge Inzi by calling him aloo.
game_changerr Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 inzamam and malik's dismissal looks dodgy,,,they should hav sued jayprakash,,,,and waqar should have sued javagal for bowling wide(negative line))
Ultimate_Game Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 inzamam and malik's dismissal looks dodgy' date=',,they should hav sued jayprakash,,,,and waqar should have sued javagal for bowling wide(negative line))[/quote'] And if you look at the highlights or match replay more closely, you will see Tendulkar handing over Kumble's sweater to the umpire. This was a clear signal something was up and it was a signal to Pak batsmen to throw their wkt. After all why couldn't Kumble have handed over his sweater to the umpire? I tell you Pakis were on their way to a 10 wkt win when this fixing kaanspiracy was hatched and poor Pakis fell into the trap else we would have seen the record for the highest ever chase broken that day.
