+10 There's nothing more exciting than watching a bowler in irrepressible form against a batsman at the top of his game. Usually you have one or the other. It's extremely rare for a bowler in red hot form come up against a quality bat. Steyn-Tendulkar, Waugh-Ambrose, Atherton-Donald (though Atherton was out early on but not given) is what makes cricket so special. Even the Tendulkar-Wasim/Waqar/Saqlain in Chennai test was special just as Gavaskar against Pak spinners was in mid 80s where Gavaskar scored 96. Unfortunately batting levels have dropped to such an alarming extent that hint of assistance for bowlers or a bowler in top form is enough to induce a collapse. No wonder we have seen 3 sub-50 scores in the last year and a half!!!

Have always thought this with regards to test match bowling. I think Morkel is the best limited overs bowler in the world.

Batsmen don't seem patient these days. If batting is difficult, you have to tough it out, be choosy and hit only bad balls. But influence of T20 is making batsmen hit their way out of trouble, which will usually fail in a test match when the ball is talking.

Just that Steyn and Philander are so good that he appears a bit off color, like Gillespie was, while bowling alongside McGrath. Morkel keeps the pressure at one end, and makes the job of Steyn easier.

yes i did he suddenly increased his pace when it seemed the pitch is not assisting him he is a complete package!

That was fantastic to see. He was superb in that spell. I though he has lost his ability to clock 150, but suddenly he upped the ante.
