India have won their test series twice in west indies won in england in 2007 1-0 won cb series 2008 was world cup finalists in south africa 2003 drew test series with south africa in south africa in last 10 years.

We did get whitewashed in Eng-Aus but we managed to win a series in England and WI, when was the last time you did something similar? Yes India did have a stretch of a couple of years of decent performances overseas ... but before that and since then (95% of your cricket history) you have been at the level of Bangladesh overseas ! Pakistan is currently a more competitive team overseas and has been overall as well !
