India were lucky to escape with a win despite having crap selections like Bhajji, Murali Vijay and Ishant and not playing one more recognized batsman and Ojha. We will lose Hyderabad is we retain the same 'winning' combination. Aussies would have learnt their lessons. They will get better and if the England series is anything to go by, India will get worse. Too premature for a celebration.

From an oz point of view, jadeja was pretty good with the ball, could easily handle 2nd spinner duties. With Dhoni at #6 india can afford Jadeja at 7, i doubt any of India's pace bowlers will trouble us, may as well pick 3 spinners plus Jadeja, Australia have no idea.

talking about Sandeep Sharma, saw him in Ranji trophy match Punjab vs Saurashtra, was not even clocking 130 and was completely ineffective on a flattish track while Siddarth Kaul clocked up to 143 and was the standout bowler of the match in terms of pacers and this was the same batting pitch on which India and England scored 650 runs in an ODI and India lost it narrowly, the first match of the series.

Honestly, do indian fans really think in those two 4-0 away losses that India got served up dodgy pitches with mega home advantage?? I really think they were quite good in England, even Perth being a 2 and a half day pitch, it wasnt really moving around THAT much.

It looked worse than how it behaved. You had a 10th wicket partnership to avoid innings defeat. Your batsmen like Wade, Hughes, Warner did not apply well while even Lyon survived 100 balls.

Hyderabad and Mohali will have better pitches ... We are going to win in Delhi no doubt about that ... but just that I am not even sure if our players would even be left with enough confidence till we reach Delhi or not. I hope we somehow draw one or both the tests in middle and for that the batting needs to click. Hopefully I will see Sehwag and Vijay firing at the top and the BCCI really needs to find some more decent spinners.

Its not really as bad as it looked. You should expect pitches in India to assist spinners especially as we approach summer. The first couple of days were good for batting but Aussie batsmen didnt take full advantage of it and Ashwin in particular bowled very well. If they had made 500, India would have needed to chase 200 on final day which would have been tricky. From 4th day, the rough from the bowlers foot marks was always going to come in to play and all Indian spinners bowled well.

No i agree this pitch looked bad but was ok.

This is actually a good test match pitch though. Its not really as bad as it looked. You should expect pitches in India to assist spinners especially as we approach summer. The first couple of days were good for batting but Aussie batsmen didnt take full advantage of it and Ashwin in particular bowled very well. If they had made 500, India would have needed to chase 200 on final day which would have been tricky. From 4th day, the rough from the bowlers foot marks was always going to come in to play and all Indian spinners bowled well.

In fact the Aussies managed even 380 due to some horrendeous decisions by the umpires, especially the Clarke dismissal. If Clarke had been given out Australia wouldn't have reached 250.

India had an experienced side but most of their experienced players were on the way down and in their mid to late 30s. But you're right, this win doesn't provide much input in to how they will go in South Africa.

Yup our 8-0 loss was poor than anything and everything. Can't forget that unless we beat Aussies and Pommies back in their own land.
