Bowling 140+ is Kinda some thing which requires even the Best of guys to Run at Full Pace and Kinda Push your body Limits- these guys can do it only when these Fast bowlers are SUPER FIT with Strength of a Super Man.I mean when they r bustling with energy n wth No niggles and oif these same guys are asked to bowl under 130K .....they can bowl even if they r Half fit...... See Shoaib Akhtar , See shane Bond, see Allan Donald at Peak see Morne morkel See the fastest bowler in the World Shaun Tait and one who is challenging him TINO Best See the case of Munaf n Vrv as soon as they realised that there Body cannot handle that level of fitness all the time they

All indian fast bowlers I mean VRV Munna Zahir Khan slowed down and bcame slow bowlers to stretch their life span as a bowler Zak started of as a 140+ bowler and that's why he came Ahead of all n finally even Srrinath left knowing well that a faster fast bowler is their..... What I wanna convey is a FAST bowler"s genuine Career as a genuine indian fast bowler is only yes to 5 years and not more....... I believe Varun and Umesh have already had the first 3 years Completed and I will be surprised n happy if they can be genuinely fast for another 5 years......as per my funda they can be fast for 1 to 2 years more and then they will be TRUNDLERS.... I am sorry I am bracketing Varun with Umesh as Varun has hardly been fit to play International Cricket......he has hardly played a few matches I believe that Dhoni did not play him in ENGLANd bcos varun was not Fit As it is UNBELEIVABLE to play a fat RP ahead of a FIt Varun for any Captain in the world RP was definitely Fat and was on a Sweet diet when he ws 100 kgs

If they r raw now after another 12 months they will bcom Trundlers and experienced....... I wud Take a Zak when he was a regular 140+ bowler to a 130 Trundler but experienced Zak into my team...... I wud take a 135 to 139 K swing bowler Irfan to a 130K more experienced Irfan today Do u guys know Ajit agarkar used to bowl 138 to 145K when at his peak today he bowls 130 to 135 though he continues to give 2 rubbish balls still even when he is an experienced bowler Understand fast bowling requires Youth energy fitness and Experience is fine but not mandatory All fast bowlers have declined when they have bcom Experienced......

I have discussed with a bengal batsman who playsa domestic cricket and I was surprised that he kinda Fears Umesh Yadav.......he has played a few balls from him That fear is so important. If a batsmen is fearful he is bound to fail

Here's more good news: Umesh Yadav is back! What was the nature of your injury? It was the stress before a stress fracture. Often a fracture hints at a bigger injury. I was at a stage where my body was giving me a signal that something was going to be wrong. In medical terms, it is called a stress reaction. But I’m in good shape now. I’m about to play my first match on return as Vidarbha have qualified for the Syed Mushtaq Ali knockouts. When did you realise something was not right? Towards the end of the Ahmedabad Test (against England), I felt something was holding me back. I intimated our physio that I had a problem. He suggested I do an MRI and a bone CT scan. The reports revealed a stress reaction. I was asked to be careful. Had I continued playing, it would have certainly led to a major stress fracture. And what steps you are taking to ensure there is no relapse? I realised I had a problem with my loading. I was twisting my body. Now I’m trying to ensure that my hand comes down straighter. During my fitness regime, I focused on proper conditioning of the body. Hopefully, there will be no relapse. Fast bowlers often change their action after a major injury. What do we expect when we see you bowl? You will not see major changes in my bowling, maybe just a little bit here and there. As I said, I’ve worked on my loading action as I was twisting my body. You can say I’ve made a small correction there. How long will it take to get back your pace? Three years ago, I’d suffered a similar stress fracture. When I made a comeback, I didn’t cut down on speed. I was still bowling at 150 kph. I would like to believe it’ll be the same this time too. What are your other strengths? I am quick both in the air and off the wicket. I need to hit the right length. Why just me, any fast bowler needs to know his right length. The second aspect is understanding the dynamics of swing. It makes us that much perfect. The more I develop my length and swing, the better for me. These are the two skills that get us wickets. How about a sharper outswinger? I’ve worked on it a lot. Right now, I’m landing the ball outside the off-stump and getting it to move away. If I can pitch the ball much closer to the stumps and swing it away, it’ll add to my effectiveness. How does a fast bowler realise he has hit his best rhythm? During any of your spells for India, did you ever feel that everything about your bowling was right — the run-up, pace and release, all in perfect sync? I’ve had this experience playing for India. The Melbourne Test in 2011 was one such. My body tires a bit after a long spell and naturally so. But there, even in the third spell, I was feeling absolutely fine. My rhythm was right and I was accurate. My body was moving exactly the way I wanted. Have you ever seen fear in the eyes of an international batsman? I’ve never tried to sense anxiety in whosoever I’m bowling to. Obviously, fear is a natural reaction after a batsman is hit on the helmet while fending a bouncer. But I don’t try to look out for signs of anxiety. You have bowled to all of India’s emerging batsmen. Who reads the length early? There are many — Shikhar Dhawan, for instance. He makes his body adjustments smoothly. And Ajinkya Rahane, too, has a good eye. Also Virat Kohli, M Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara. They have played so much they have learnt to pick the length early. Regale us with tales of your childhood when you would steal mangoes and get beaten up by your dad... We would be on the hunt for mangoes in the evenings. That would be our favourite pastime. We would just sneak into anybody’s garden for our prized loot. Woh toh bachpana tha hum mein (that was childishness in us). My neighbours would complain, and my father would give me a sound hammering. He would often tell me, “Why do you need to steal? If you want something, you can always ask me.” But you know how it is when you are a child. You do things for the sake of adventure. Those were the days I enjoyed myself. Somehow mango-stealers become legends. There is one in the Indian team who bats at No 4. (Laughs) But I think those adventures helped me a lot. The way we would run for fear of getting thrashed...inadvertently, the exercise developed my physical constitution. I would run for hours on the beach. My father never allowed me to sleep for more than six hours. That routine has given me an athletic body. And also because of the days spent at coal mines... Yes. My father, who sacrificed so much for us, worked at a coal mine. People had to go underneath the ground amidst soil and rock. Back then, there were no proper lights or stairways. The safety devices were implemented recently. He would return with bruised fingers and feet soiled with ditchwater. When he used to leave home, we would not be sure that we would see him again. You have moved to a new house... It’s not a very big house to be honest. There was a place, five kilometres away from where we were staying. Father’s friends suggested that we buy land there. The earlier place was obviously too small to accommodate three brothers and a sister. Everything has been done according to my dad’s wish. If I’m playing at the top level and can make a bit of difference to his lifestyle, I’ll be that much happy. Are you obsessed with bikes? Shauk toh kafi hain (Bikes are my passion). But I would rather not indulge in them. You may meet with an accident even if you are not to be blamed. Why not indulge occasionally on open grounds at night? You know how it is with fast bowlers. At times, we can’t resist speed. But on the field you remain a proud fast bowler, without inhibitions. Right. All I want to do is give our opponents a pure taste of pace, something that our batsmen face day in, day out. At least people will stop saying that India does not have a quick bowler.

this guy knows where he has to improve.. im happy so happy to read he is working more on out swinger and trying to swing it from stumps! now this is the difference between smart bowler and unlucky :P

I have only seen Viru decimating Fast bowlers as Shikhar that day.... Shikhar was Hooking at will and looked 10 times better than Murli..... This guy has a lot of Talent against Fast bowlers that what counts..... We have at least 50 batters who bat well against genuine Spinners But hardly any who can handle Morkel Steyn etc.... I am waiting to see what Murli kohli shikhar rahane pujara do against morkel n steyn That's when I will possibly decide who is the best- my bet is pujara and shekhar wud Win Let us see the contest.... I am also keen to see the Indian fast bowlers too but india shud take 6 pacers there.... Everybody"s hero Jaddu will get out in single digits and not get wickets there..even ashwin Will Fail..only Pacers will win n india shud think of playing 4 pacers in there 11.

Ojha ashwin n jaddu r a great attack on Spin friendly tracks n I bet africa will prepare tracks that ensure that Our Spinners FAIL big time. But I think guys Like Umesh Bhuvnesh Shammi wud enjoi in Africa

He does not to do too much for that just come a bit more closer to the stumps like Steyn. His bowling does not come enough around the shoulder like Anderson so he will have to come closer to the stumps.

It is not always about what kind of shots you can play. Not many batsmen in India can play shots like Yuvraj and Rohit Sharma. Test cricket is more about temperament and than strokes. Sometimes, batsmen need to bide their times, arresting the storm, a spell of good bowling. Dhawan is yet to show that.
