AUS in AUS, I dont think we will lose by 4-0 again, In south africa too ... we will draw atleast one game.

It's easier to draw test matches in australia but if the first test match is in melbournce (it usually is) where we get RAPED, then drawing the other matches are harder. You saw how the pitches were in england? They were all flat except for headingley. And we couldn't draw one single match. We weren't even close.

Ashwin can develop into such a spinner if he bowls with effort and gives a solid tweak like he used to do when he just started his international career. Bhajji had the quality but has now lost it. Someone like a Sarabjit Laddha has the potential. I have not seen Rasool yet. We have to search for more such spinners and develop them too. We don't have good spinner training schools who look for talent and teach and improve them.

What do you think our confidence will be when we go on each of these tours starting October? How do you build our fast bowlers confidence when you make a pitch tailor made just for the spinners? If we do except to win the away series, then it will be on the back of our bowling, primarily fast bowlers.

Maybe Sreesanth can be tried given that he does a little better in the domestic season in whatever games he gets before the tour.

Reading about Vengsarkar (didn't watch him actually) towards end of his career and later, I was under impression for long that he was very good player away from home. Couple of facts which contributed in development of this notion were a) His 3 consecutive centuries at Lords b) Maximum number of his centuries came against WI (of that time). However a closer look revealed that his home average was 56 while away was 33.
cricketman Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I think an important factor that is missing for India's current youth compared to our gloried middle order (Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly) is the opportunities available in county cricket. All of these guys had experience playing for county sides in England and came out as better players. Even with the ball, Zaheer came out as a completely different beast after his stint with Glamorgan. Imagine how good Rahane, Tiwary, and Rohit Sharma can be if they play a solid stint of cricket overseas against quality fast bowling and the moving ball. Last I heard, the BCCI has banned its players from playing in any other league (not just T20 leagues either). This is how we groom teams that can be competitive abroad! Time to start working with other boards and set up exchange programs (rather than do the opposite as BCCI has done with England development teams recently). It will be better for world cricket

In the next 20 tests, we play only 3 at home vs WI in Oct Nov 2014. 3 (perhaps 4 ) vs SA in SA, 3 in NZ, 5 in Eng, 3 at home vs WI and then 4 in Aus We would be lucky not to be the last ranked side in the world by the end of this cycle

The spinners who are being choosen should be effective even if they get a neutral deck. Those who succeed only on square turners don't turn out to be strike bowlers in the end. Similarly, when we choose pacers to play in away conditions, it is better to choose those who can succeed in neutral conditions too. yes dont pick bowlers who only do well in favourable conditions,lets pick players who suck everywhere:nice:

When we get raped in SA with Jadeja walking out to bat, you will soon understand. Plus quality bats who can play in all conditions, it would be good if they debut at home in more favourable conditions to get feet under table I can visualize Bhikari walking out to face Steyn and co and literally get raped anally and then **** his pants! I would pay for that.
